I could see the little Omega growing slightly offended by my words, but I didn’t want to risk her giving up on our bond later on.
“You weren’t there,” she snapped.
“I didn’t need to be.”
“Are you saying I’m a quitter?”
“No, I wouldn’t really define you as such. I think you’re just afraid,” I explained, seeing her eyes soften. “You must have had a good reason to leave.”
“But you just said I didn’t.”
“What I mean is, I don’t think you should have let others dictate your decision,” I clarified.
“You don’t know what they would have done to me,” she whispered, looking down.
“Then it should have been your mates’ job to better secure your place.”
“They did!”
“Obviously not well enough,” I remarked, seeing her narrow her eyes.
