Gabriel had prepared both of us for the upcoming event. He had even ensured I had a dress ready to change into as soon as I arrived home from school. He was going to join me later, delayed by work, so I used my time to get ready, slipping into the long, dark red gown. Running my hands down the fabric, I could feel its opulence, and I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of apprehension about wearing something so expensive.
Glad that I didn’t know its price, I hurried to the bathroom to prepare myself. I left my long hair down, curling the ends to give it an elegant flow, and applied a touch of makeup.
