Chapter 4 ~ The vampire lords

I frowned slightly as Justin sent Taylor back in. "Tristan what are you still doing here? Are you aware the board has arrived?" Justin asks looking into the woods. he held a phone to his ear like he was on a call. I step into his view. "Yes I'm aware. But do you think humans scare me?"

"Even with the one thing that can kill you?" He asks. "The one thing?" Justin rolls his eyes. "Fine one of the few things that can kill you." Justin says. "Did you tell them everything?"

"No, I simply gave an overall report of what happened. Enough for them to have a basic understanding of what happened but not too much. Do you think i'd give you away?" He asks tilting his head slightly. I shove my hands into my pocket. "How has she been?"

"Taylor? She's been fine. But why'd you give her the ring? And how'd you even get in?"

"One of the vampire Lords helped me."

"Kai? helped you?" I roll my eyes. "No the first vampire lord." Justin frown slightly. "I don't know who that is." He says with a shrug. "The first vampire lord is Grace." I say glancing behind me. "Hello kai." Justin says. "Hello, Justin." Kai says with a smile. "How are the vampire lords doing?"

"They're fine." Kai says as he turns to me. "Tristan, Grace wishes to speak with you."

"Why?"

"You know why." I roll my eyes. "Let me guess she's unhappy because i have been hanging around Taylor so much?"

"That's a start yes, but a group of vampires are going to reveal us to the world." I frown. "Does she know who it is or why?" Kai shakes his head. "No she only heard about it a week ago she's been working like crazy to find out who it is."

"I'm not much help vampires don't sleep and only vampire lords can have more then one ability." Kai rolls his eyes. "she's well aware. Just come to the mansion." He says before he takes off into the woods. "I gotta go. Keep Taylor safe."

"You know i will." I nod before i take off running into the woods. I soon caught up to Kai. "What does she know about the group?"

"Not much. They have about twenty or more vampires. they all have some kind of ability, there's not much she can know without touching one." I frown. "That's not good is it?" Kai stops then turns around to face me. "I heard she wants to make you a vampire lord."

"She what?" Kai nods. "She believes if you turn into one you'll get better abilities then all of us combined."

"How do you even turn into a vampire lord?"

"it's a painful process and one vampire lord has to step down and become a normal vampire or she could add you because she doesn't have a mate." Kai looks at me for a second before he takes off again. After about an hour of running we finally make it to the mansion. The first room is a normal living room. It has two or three sofas, a large tv hanging above the fireplace. The window's were covered with black out curtains. Along the back wall was filled with different pictures and paintings. Grace sat on the sofa watching something. Grace had her black hair tied up in a bun. She sat up and smiled at me as she stood. She was wearing a longer dark red dress that touched the floor everytime she walked. "Follow me into the throne room." The throne room is where the kitchen would be. it was bigger then the living room and had three thrones where the original lords would sit. Along the room sat several other vampires who acted as guard's even though they could take any vampire out by themselves. Grace walked up to her throne and sat down. Beside her throne sat Ashlyn and beside her sat Lynn. The other two vampires lords stood behind them. I walked in front of all three thrones. Kai looked down at me while he stood behind ashlyn she wasn't his mate he still had to find her. Sebastian had black hair with a dark red streak in his hair. today he was dressed in a black suit probably to match his mate Lynn who was wearing a black dress with her silver hair pinned back. Ashlyn had completely white hair. Today she was wearing a dark blue dress that went to her knees. I bowed before i stood up straight again. "Kai said you wanted to see me?" I say making eye contact with Grace. "Yes, did he tell you what was happening?" She asked her bright red eyes locking onto my eyes. "Yes."

"I want to make you a vampire lord. I understand you don't have a mate yet correct?"

"Yes ma'am." Grace smiles. "Didn't i already tell you to call me Grace?" I nod. "So what do you think?"

"About becoming a vampire lord?" I ask. "Yes."

"As long as i am free to look for my mate then i don't care."

"I wouldn't ever take away your freedom to look for a mate." Grace says as she stands. As she stepped forward so did everyone else. "Do you know how this works?" Grace asked as she stopped in front of me. "No." Ashlyn and lynn stood side by side as they took each other's hand Sebastian and Kai did the same thing so they were standing in circle. "Okay you may feel a bit of pain." I nod. "Close your eyes." I nod then close my eyes. A low pain started on my upper arm and slowly grew until it reached my wrist. When it got to my wrist the pain almost felt like a small fire was burning on my wrist until a cold hand grabbed my wrist slowly the pain went away. When i opened my eyes i was kneeling on the floor. I glanced at my wrist were a small black crown sat. I stood confused. Slowly they bowed. "Welcome Tristan, the sixth vampire lord."
