Jay had called and woke me up at seven in the damn morning asking me for Elle’s address. I was a bit hesitant to give it to him; Elle was already upset I had invited Jay to her party much less her home. But at the same time, I wanted my friends to fix their problems and move forward, whether it was together or apart. I ended up giving in and texting him the info before putting my phone on silent and falling back asleep. By the time I woke again, it was after twelve and Mia was already out of bed. I quickly checked my phone to see if Jay sent me any update but only saw a text on What’s App from my mom asking if I was still coming to carnival this year. What a silly question, she knew I went every year. Just as I was going to reply back, I got an idea.  I opened my web browser excitedly and typed in Ramajay Mas camp where I scrolled until I found what I was looking for. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw they still had more costumes in stock; Mia and I had placed our orders months ago but now I wanted to get another one for Elle. After typing in her size and filling out my credit card information, I quickly emailed my assistant Anna to book me an extra two plane tickets to Trinidad. A vacation was what we all needed and what better place to have one then my home country. ************************ Almost a week passed before Elle finally responded to my messages so when she texted me to meet for lunch, I happily accepted. An hour later we met up outside Woodberry’s Kitchen, I gave her a tight hug before turning to the hostess, “two please.”  People stared as we made our way through the restaurant but I was used to it. The waiter came as soon as we sat down and gave us a jug of water before taking our orders. “So, what’s new?” I asked Elle. She took a sip of her water before replying. “Girl, A LOT. The collection’s been getting sooo much buzz... I had three magazine shoots just this week, it’s been so hectic...” “I’m so proud of you Elle... and I’m sorry for giving Jay your-” Elle held up her hand to interrupt me, “don’t apologize, I’m actually not mad... I mean I was a little taken off guard but I know why you did it... I’m actually glad you did, I was able to get a lot off my chest...” “I know it must’ve felt like an ambush, but I just figured it would be best for y'all to talk it out... he really loves you you know... and I know you still love him too...” “Honestly... I don’t know how I feel right now. I mean... a part of me still hates him, but the other part... I miss what we had.” “I understand... both of yall are like family to me and I want yall BOTH to be happy.” Elle took a bite of her food before speaking again, “so, about this trip you have planned...?”
