JACEON

By the time I pulled up to the event, it was a little after 7pm. I knew I was late but I figured I would just sneak in unnoticed. The room was dark except for the lighted runway in the middle of the room. Asia was on stand doing her thing as some curvy chocolate skinned woman strutted her stuff in a tight ass wedding dress. I had no clue as to why Asia even invited me here cause so far it seemed like I was the only straight dude here. “Ayo Jay! Waddup!” I heard someone shout and scanned the room until I found NBA player Dwight Masterson seated by the bar. I made my way over to him and gave him a pound before ordering myself a drink. “Yamgirl made you come out too?” He asked before pointing at his own fiancé seated in the front row. I chuckled. “Nah dog, I just came to support Asia then I’m out...” we kept chatting for a minute before the crowd broke out in oohs ahhs and applause. I put my drink down and turned my head to see what everyone was staring at. There on the runway was a beautiful thick caramel skinned woman wearing a huge princess type gown that looked as if two people could hide under it.  “I think that’s the designer...” Dwight announced when he noticed me staring. “She’s bad as fuck...” I smirked, “aint you married nigga?” “Not yet...” he replied with a wink. I shook my head before turning my attention back to the stage; something about the woman intrigued me. I set down my drink and stood up to get a closer look, that’s when we locked eyes and my heart starting beating out of my chest. I couldn’t believe my eyes; Asia had been friends with her this whole time? She froze at the end of the stage but the only person who noticed was Asia, who looked back and forth between us with a confused look on her face. Breaking our gaze, I simply sat back down and ordered a double shot; I needed to have a talk with Asia.
