"good evening sir."
Luke didn't seem to bothered. then his phone rang, it was Hunter, the head CEO of the lunar Corporation.
"sire," Hunter rang on the other end of the line. "have my men shown up there yet?"
"yes, they just got here."
"oh sir, so sorry for the delay, it would never happen again. I'll make sure they get punished for wasting so much time." Hunter said sounding anxious.
"no Hunter, it's okay, I'm not too bothered about them being late, I just want to get home."
"okay sir." there was a long pause on the line until Hunter broke the silence"sir if I may ask, why did you suddenly decide to come back home?"
"I wasted my time with Valerie, it seems like she didn't value our relationship or my love. she's a very shady person." Luke sighed
"oh I'm sorry to hear that sir, do you want me to make her family company go bankrupt?"
"no, just let her I mean them be." Luke no longer had any form of feelings for Valerie and didn't want anything to do with her or her toxic family anymore.
"what do you intend on doing now sir, are you going to remain in nyla City?"
"for now." Luke replied.
"okay sir, just a gentle reminder that you have four companies in nyla City, and the stellar corporation is a part of the four, which has the highest net worth of 40 billion dollars double of the company second to it."
"okay, I'll go there first." Luke giggled.
"when do you plan on going there?"
"first thing tomorrow morning I guess."
"oh okay sir, have a good night." Hunter hung up. the stellar corporation was Luke's favorite corporation. it was where he started.
ever since that cold night in November, when he was beat up by Florian and his security.
Luke wore his best suit and sprayed his best perfume. he was on his way to Rebecca's house. Rebecca was his ex girlfriend. he wanted to surprise her with a rose and a small box of chocolate for her birthday.
he got to her front door and noticed a pair of masculine shoes at her door step. they didn't look anything like his. he was upset and turned around, but he thought, it could be a misunderstanding. so he opened the door and met Rebecca and Florian kissing with Rebecca pinned against the wall. he couldn't believe his eyes.
"oh hey, it's your loser boyfriend Luke." Florian turned to him.
"ugh what are you doing here?" Rebecca asked Luke.
" that's what I'm supposed to be asking you." he turned to Florian.
"non of your business bitch." Florian said with mockery in his voice.
"oh it very well is my business." lue tightened his fists in ange,r.
"just that Rebecca would rather be with someone who can take care of her." Florian said looking serious.
Luke turned to Rebecca who had a smile on her face.
"could this be true?" he thought. the more he thought, the angrier he became until he couldn't hold in his anger anymore. he launched himself at Florian, hitting him on the face.
"how dare you hit me in the face, who doe you think you are?" Florian yelled. he pulled out his cell phone from his pocket.
"come over now, and don't waste time. I have a fool her that needs to be taught a lesson."
"Luke knew he was the fool that was going to be
taught a lesson. but before he could turn to leave, he noticed a bunch of cars parked in front of her house. and some men with batons came down from them.
"where's the fool.".
Florian pointed to Luke, and they all started beating him untill Luke was unconscious.
"I think he is dead, let's dump him down the street.".
they picked him up and threw him on the ground beside an abandoned building.
Luke woke up three hours later to the sound of a lady trying to revive him. his vision was still blurry so he couldn't really see her face.
"Ms Winston," an old masculine voice shouted.
"Ms Winston, there you are, it's time time to go." the man grabbed her by the hand and pulled her away. it was already an hour after midnight. he got up about leaving when he heard voices coming from the abandoned building.
"you forgot the deal." a man shouted.
Luke peeped in through the window and he saw two men. one on his knees with tears in his eyes and one with a gun, backing the window.
"uhm.......fine I'll give you the money." mr Elon said with a shaking voice.
"that's wasn't the deal. you are supposed to step down as the CEO of stellar corporation and make me the new CEO. I'm tired of being your assistant." Bryson loaded the gun.
"okay fine I will, I'll give_"
"unfortunately I don't trust you anymore, so you have left me no choice." he pointed the gun at Mr Elon's fore head. Luke knew he had to do something, so he picked up a brick and threw it with all his strength. that was only able to knock Bryson down.
Luke quickly jumped in through the window and picked up the gun. he looked at Mr Elon who was still terrified and then shifted his gaze back to Bryson who was already getting up. there was nothing left on his mind, his head still aches from the gang beating he had received earlier, so he pulled the trigger and Bryson laid dead on he floor with blood dripping from his head and chest.
Luke dropped the gun looking terrified, he had just killed someone, something he had never imagined himself doing. just then, Mr Elon stood up with a smile on his face. "thank you boy, you just saved my Life. Bryson has been threatening me and my business for a long time now, thank you." Luke didn't reply as he couldn't get himself back together. Mr Elon noticed the terror in his eyes.
"don't worry, I won't let them take you to jail. I own the biggest company in the country and I can assure you nothing is going to happen. tell me how can I ever repay you?"
"don't worry sir, you don't need too." but Mr Elon didn't want to give up just yet.
"how would you like to be my new assistant."
Luke saw this as an opportunity to start a new life, a new better life. he accepted and soon started earning millions.
a few months later, Mr Elon was involved in an accident and died and the office was taken over by Luke who was known to the public as Mr Corbin. only a few people like Hunter knew who he truly was.
Luke had tracked down the lady to Valerie and had gotten married to her, he decided to leave his business to focus on valerie.
