chapter 3

"where would you like, to go sir?" Marcus asked clenching his fists against the steering wheel.

"just drop me at the hotel, not too far from the emerald corporation."

"okay sir." he shifted the gear and drove off.

They got to the hotel after ten minutes. he got down from the car and made his way to the entrance when a woman who looked to be about 23 stepped outside. she had long black hair and wore a blue dress. she was in a hurry and almost bumped into Luke.

"oh sorry sir didn't see you there." she apologized without even looking back.

luke glared at her looking puzzled. something about her was familiar. was it her appearance or her voice. he stared at her as she walked all the way down into her white McLaren, which was not to far away. he couldn't also help to notice how beautiful she was.

"maybe I should talk to her." he thought to him self. he was about taking a step forward when Vince walked up to him looking anxious.

"good evening sir. sorry to have kept you waiting sir. Hunter just informed me that you would be saying here for a while, so I came to welcome you sir." two other hefty men came to accompany them and hauled Luke's luggage.

"take them to room 74." the men hurried off.

"room 74 is the best room. it has a great view of the City. you can even see stellar corporation from there." Vince turned to Luke.

"of course you would, its the biggest building in the whole city." Luke thought to himself.

there was a long pause.

"shall I show you your around?"

"no don't bother yourself, I just want to get some rest."

"okay sir, as you wish. let me show you to your room." Vince pointed to the elevator and headed in that direction.

Luke woke up at 9:30 am, and the first person that came to his mind was his admirer. he was still trying to know what made the lady in a black dress so familiar. "but that is not what is important right now." he thought to himself. right now he has to get to the stellar corporation by 10 Am. he quickly got up from his bed and headed for the bathroom.

Luke was all dressed up and ready to head to the stellar corporation. he called for Hunter to arrange a driver for him.

Luke stepped out of the elevator in a black suit and a gold patek Philippe grandmaster chime watch heading for the door. he could already see Marcus standing beside a black SUV outside waiting for him. he hurried into the car.

"good day sir. hope I wasn't too late?"

"no you weren't, I was the one that was late."

Marcus looked surprised at Luke's response. he had expected Luke to be as controlling and mean as his other bosses, but Luke was rather imperturbable.

it was already 9:45 and Luke was aimed at being punctual.

"where are you heading sir, stellar corporation?"

"yes, and please step on it."

he was shocked at Luke's politeness, he had never been respected by someone who was in a higher position than him.

"okay sir, I'll get there in five."

And as Marcus said, they got stellar corporation in under five minutes.

as Luke walked towards the entrance, he bumped into Florian. Florian was the rightful heir to the Elvis family business. he had shown up to save the family business since they were almost bankrupt. he was headed for Hunter's office with a bunch of papers in his arm.

"what is a loser like you doing in a place like this."

Luke ignored hoping he'd go away.

" if you are looking for a job as a cleaner I could help you out." he laughed.

"I'm not here for a job." Luke's voice was cold.

"oh, then you must be here to beg for Valerie's heart back." his voice full of mockery.

Luke hadn't even thought about Valerie for a whole day talk less of even wanting to beg her to take him back. he made it clear to himself that he is done with her and her family. worst of all how did Florian even know about that, its not like he was there.

"how did you know about that?"

"oh, you must have not seen the video. wow, I knew you were poor and useless, but not so poor that you cannot even afford a smart phone." he laughed some more as he pulled out his phone to show Luke a video.

it was the video of the divorce incident.

Luke's mind boiled with anger. "who the f**k got that on video?" he said under his breath.

"just look at you, this really captures the embarrassment on your face."

Luke turned to walk away, but Florian dragged him back by the collar. "where do you think you are going, I'm not done with you yet. Luke slapped his hand away from his collar. he knew about the Elvis family business and their current financial situation, and wondered, how could he still have the guts to talk to him like he is some mighty god.

"what a shameless man."

"what did you just call me." Florian said with rage in his voice.

"I called you a shameless man." Florian replied looking cold and sounded more confident as normal."

"who do you think you are." Florian punched Luke in the face.

Luke looked up at Florian and spat the blood out of his mouth. he knew if he retaliate, he would just be stooping too low to Florian's level, so he turned around and walked into the building.

"haha what a coward." Florian yelled.
