chapter 5

it was Lisa, the woman he had encountered at the hotel. she didn't look too different from stunning. he thought about stopping to ask for her name but his ex in-laws eyes changed his mind.

"was that Luke?" Valerie asked.

"yes." Esther replied also looking puzzled. she had totally forgot that he had come in that car.

"what is he doing in that car." Valerie tried not to believe it was his.

"he is definitely a driver because there is no way that man who can't even afford to put food on the table would drive a car as expensive as a whole company.

"oh." Valerie sighed in relief.

Esther shifted her gaze back to Valerie. "why are you late?,"

"uhm, I thought it would be nice if Lisa joined us for dinner."

"it doesn't matter, as long as they are not here yet," Esther sighed "and remember, we need this dinner to go perfect, you know what we would gain if this marriage goes through. so we won't allow any slip offs.

"what could that lady be doing with Valerie?" Luke questioned himself. he wanted to know her better so he decided to call Hunter

Ring Ring Ring

there was no answer at the other end of the line, "he is probably asleep, don't let me disturb him. I'll ask him about her tomorrow."

"I'm coming." Esther ran to open the door as if it were to be Hunter Bradley who knocked on the door. she opened the door with a welcoming face.

"good day sir, we have been expecting you." she politely welcomed in the Madisons.

after a few minutes of greetings, they all settled down on the dining table to eat.

the night was going fine. "when would you propose to Valerie?" Esther asked

"oh very soon, I was thinking we could get to know each other better. Mr Hunter is hosting a party in honour of a special guest and he invited me, I was thinking Valerie could come as my plus one. then after wards we could go on a date at wine and dine. that's where the after party is." Kubo turned to Valerie and winked who happened to be sitting right next to him.

wine and dine was the finest and most expensive restaurants in the world. it was owned by Hunter Bradley and only extra rich and extravagant people went there, Esther and Valerie both knew they were not qualified enough to go to a place that fancy.

"yes, is love to go." she blushes till her face turned red and her hands were sweaty.

"I heard only the richest and most important people in the world get to go to wine and dine." Esther blushed too, like it was also her own date.

"yes of course, what else do you expect. our son is one of the richest people in the country." Mr Madison said feeling proud of his son.

"oh thank you you are so romantic, I hope we might even run into the special guest during the party. Valerie added.

"hopefully, he would be a really good boost to the company." Kubo sipped a bit of his juice. Kubo too was in on some shady things. he only needed Valerie to get back at his ex girlfriend Lucy. he thought maybe if he could get married to the future heir of the Winston's company, she would get jealous and want him back. he didn't have real feelings for Valerie.

"Kubo, what do you think of Valerie?"

Kubo turned to Valerie with a smile, "I think she is a wonderful, kind and beautiful person that has potential to be the wife of the next CEO of Madison corporation." Kubo spat out lies. Valerie blushed even more, she was already looking as red as a tomato. the only thing Kubo truly liked about Valerie was her busty features. his heart was still for Lucy. he planned on ditching Valerie as soon as he got what he wanted. not only was he using her to get Lucy jealous, he also needed her to get linked to some other companies partnering with the Winston's corporation. he knew that if he could get that, he would not just be in the top ten most successful entrepreneurs in the country, he would be competing to be the next general CEO when Hunter retires. it was a play one get two situation and there was no way he could afford to lose.

"maybe after the party we could arrange the wedding, and that loser luke would finally give up in trying to get Valerie back." Esther tried her best to rush the process. she couldn't wait to get her hands on more cash than she could even think of at the moment.

"okay fine, that would be good." Kubo smirked, everything was going according to his plan and nothing was going to stop him.
