“Why didn't you tell me about it as soon as you found out?” Olivia’s distressed voice resonated from the other end of the line.
I didn’t even have time to call Olivia and tell her about what was happening with Lily. By the time I finally had the chance to do so, she was displeased that I kept it away from her.
I sighed, running my fingers through my ruffled hair. “I’m sorry, it was just a lot. I didn’t even know what to do.” I apologized.
Olivia’s tone softened a bit. “Do you need me to come over? I’ll see if I can help Lily in any way.”
I appreciated her gesture but I had to decline. “I’m sure you have other patients who need you back in New York. It won’t be necessary for you to come here.” I replied. “Lily is in good hands.”
She exhaled sharply.
