–––––––– HELLION I couldn’t feel the ice sheet beneath me, hands and feet as black as my surroundings. I didn’t hate the numbness, though. A nice break from the immense pain the rest of my body felt. And my fingers, they wouldn’t fall off. Hadn’t yet, at least. The sharp winds I could feel just fine. I crawled, hands and knees, to nowhere. Nowhere I could see, anyway. The air down there was stale, sunlight scarce. But I had to keep moving. Stagnation brought pain. Movement brought pain too, but it was close to a distraction.
