“Anyone else need more coffee?” Karen moved through her living room with the thermal carafe of coffee, refilling cups as they were offered to her. For the first time in all these years, Karen remembered her whole son and not just the tragic way he died. She missed Scott and she still felt the pain of losing him but it was different now. Harper’s return home made such a difference for all of them, Harper not the least among them. It amazed Karen how the immense rift between them had fallen away.
