CHAPTER 4: GATHERING EVIDENCE

After Luciana left , Mr Corey arrived with the forensics results.

" Detective Mroy can l have a word with you for a moment," he said while standing beside Chris's desk

" Sure , I will be there . Take a seat," he said while gesturing him to seat.

Chris sits down while looking at Mr Corey .

" Yes tell did you find anything," he asked impatiently.

" yes after looking at the evidence we collected we found some clues which might direct to the killer," he paused for a second " there was some blood smeared on the glass shad which we found on the victims hand , we also found a male's earing on her bed . Was she associated with any man ? " he asked while looking at Chris

" Yes l questioned the therapist today , she told me that she was having some misunderstandings with her boyfriend so maybe she suggested breaking up and the boyfriend maybe got mad and killed her in a fit of rage ," he said with an uncertain tone . " you said that you find blood on the glass did it belongs to the victim,"

"No from what l saw , the victim didn't have any injuries that could fit the angle of the blood because it looked liked it was smeared by pressing someone on it ," Corey said.

" So it might be the murder's blood , and a glove was found in the bin outside the building. It was covered in blood. So it might be the same blood which was on the glass shad,"

Chris looked to be deep in thoughts. Mr Corey continued talking " and we found some hidden voice recordings in the glass shard . But ... " " Can you bring the recordings we might find something," Chris cuts him .

" I brought it , here it is inside the envelope with the reports. But the glove and the shad with blood we still have them , oh yes and the stud we still have it . We need to run some DNA test," he said while standing up to leave . "Well thank you Sir for your help . I appreciate it . After I close this case I will treat you to a meal and don't say no ," he said while smiling.

" Why would I say no to food ?. I will be waiting for it ," he said while laughing.

Chris was left there with the reports in his hands , he was interrupted by the ringing of his phone . He picked up , it was a new caller ID " Detective Chris speaking,"

" sir it is me , the guard at the Sunhill Apartments. You gave me your number and said that l can call you if l remember something related to the case ." the guard said.

" So do you remember something? Tell me," Chris asked.

" Yes sir , I remember that on the day of the murder someone came to visit Mrs Claire . It was a man . ,"

" Can you describe the man in detail? "

" He was about 1.80cm tall with brown hair and green eyes. It was her boyfriend. He usually visits ma'am so l recognized him ,"

"Do you remember the time he left the apartment?,"Chris asked.

"Well l didn't see him leaving the place that's all l can remember. l hope it can help with the investigation,"

"Can you remember his name?," Chris asked.

" Yes it's Ian Steve Wilson ,"

" Thank you so much for your help sir . I appreciate it . If you remember anything else give me a call," he said while ending the call.

"Jaden come here for a moment I need you to look at someone's profile," he said while gesturing him to come with his hand .

" Find out who is Ian Steve Wilson,"

" Oh sir , I know that guy ," he said with wide eyes like a child who had found something of great value.

" Who is it ? and how do you know him?,"

Jaden looked at him like he was something that was so unreal " Sir who doesn't know Mr Wilson? He is the CEO of the Golden Jewellers Company sir . He was appointed CEO by his father the company chairman, "

" When was he appointed CEO,? " Chris asked.

" Last year ," Jaden said " but why are you asking about him?"

"He was dating Mrs Nala and a male's earing was found on the crime scene. On the day of the murder he visited Mrs Nala's home but he wasn't seen going out . So for now he is our prime suspect. ," Jaden was shocked to hear this .

"And I want you to come with me to the company," he said .

" Ken I am going with Jaden to The Golden Jewellers Company. I need to see Mr Wilson, there's a connection between him and Mrs Nala . So I am leaving everything in your care ," he said while standing up to go to the restroom.

Jaden was so much in his thoughts.

So does this mean that Steve was Mrs Nala's murderer? .

But if he is then what about the other women? Does it mean there's no connection between these deaths?
