The Reflection Room

CHAPTER 3: THE INVESTIGATION

Chris spend his night at the station trying to figure things out . There were so many unanswered questions.

The next morning came , Chris had taken a little break he was fast asleep resting his head on his little desk which was covered with so many unorganized papers .

Ken was taken aback when he saw Chris already at the station. He went to his desk " Detective Mroy did you spend the night here ," he took a little sigh " Oh you are working so hard to catch the criminal, we won't slack off either " he said with a reassuring smile on his face . If there was someone that Chris can rely on was Ken.He was a hard-working man. Chris had liked him as a friend since he was a rookie detective .

He just smiled at him" I that l can rely on you Ken . Now call everyone in the meeting room we need to start investigating," he paused while holding an envelope " and the forensics team haven't sent the results in yet ," .

He freshened up in the restroom.

When he got in the meeting room everyone was waiting for him.

"Good morning everyone as you all know we are trying to solve three murder cases of women in their late twenties. And we have concluded that this might be a serial killer on the loose ," he paused for a moment. " We are going to check the facts first to see if there's any connections between the victims," he continued " first all victims are women, second they are all in their late twenties, third the most key they all went to a therapy room called the reflection room,"

"But sir have the forensics arrived yet ," it was Jaden who was asking

" no they haven't but we will be carrying the investigation forward okay," there was pin drop silence . " All the victims were strangled by a rope to death .There were some cuts and bruises on the victims bodies. And we don't know yet if those cuts were made while the victims were still alive , only forensics can clear that out for us . ," " The first victim Mrs George was killed on the 28th of May, Mrs McGregor the second victim was killed on the 5th of June eight days from the first murder, Mrs Claire was murdered on the 14th of June nine days from the second murder," .

"Is there anything we know about the therapy room?"

" I looked at the business cards we found it's on the 12th floor of Sunrise Complex building," Ken said .

"ok Ken and l will go to the building," he said while looking at everyone " The meeting is over . We need to get any information we can get , ok let's go "

He started walking out of the door , Ken was already behind him .

When they arrived , they went straight to the therapy room. The was a lady she looked to be in her late twenties . She had blonde hair and brown eyes , she was about 6ft tall .

"hi Detective Mroy here , and you must be the therapist here right? ," he said while shaking hands . " Dr Luciana Morris here . What brings detectives to my humble office today?" she asked while showing them chairs to seat .

Chris cleared his throat before speaking " We came here because three women were killed," he paused while looking intensely at Luciana not missed any movement from her but she was relaxed " and all those women came here for therapy sessions so we need you to come down with us at the station if you can ," he concluded.

" Luckily today l am not busy we can go right away , and l understand that l might be the main suspect upon seeing you here ," she said while standing up taking her hand bag ready to leave.

" we appreciate your cooperation Mrs ,"

They left for the station.

Upon arriving they went straight to the questioning room .

Only Chris and Luciana went inside.

" I will be asking you some personal and non- personal questions. ," Chris said while sitting on the chair.

" so for how long have you known Nancy George, Sheila McGregor and Nala Claire,"

"Well it hasn't been too long since l started knowing them ," she said while looking like she's trying to think something.

" can you be more specific,"

" ok l started knowing Nancy since l became a therapist, l used to work at the same hospital as her way before l opened my own therapy room. I knew her before she even became my patient but we were not close back then . As for Sheila my cousin introduced her to me that's when l gave her my business card , she was my cousin's personal hairdresser. And Nala Claire I just knew her because my uncle works at the same law firm as, l can't say that l knew her personally. She wasn't open," she said while sighing.

" Has any of them ever told about their personal lives," Chris asked

"Well Nala told me that she had been having some misunderstandings with her boyfriend so it was affecting her work performance and she no longer have peace of mind," she paused while seemingly looking like she was trying to remember something. " As for Nancy she wasn't open about her personal life . Umm when she came to me for counseling she told me that she had been having some weird nightmares and she felt like someone was following her ,"

She smiled for a moment" Sheila was one happy soul . The first time l saw her she asked what l would have done if l have ever done something so terrible to someone in the past , and l told to reflect on it and apologize to that person,".

"That's all l can remember sir ," she said while looking at Chris and for some reason he felt like she was looking into her soul . It was..... uncomfortable.
