Ma’m your daughter is 3 weeks pregnant and she will need proper medical care so as not to endanger the life of the child.the doctor said to Mrs Owen(Tessy's mom). Mrs Owen was so confused and lost, she couldn't understand how or when this must have happened. She suspected Dave, as they had both been the only ones whom she could think of. He is the only male she knows that her daughter might be in touch with, but she couldn't believe he would be such. Several thoughts ram through her mind and she decides to talk to her daughter immediately when she wakes up. She spoke to Tessy only to confirm from Tessy that he was the one. They both went home and told her father. He was so ashamed because his family were known for their diligence and good morals and characters and his name was going to get tarnished this way. He decided to confront Dave and have a meeting with Dave and the rest of the family. Dave tried to explain that he wasn’t the one, he denied every allegation made to him, he couldn’t believe Tessy would even think of his name, as he had never had any form of s****l contact or intimacy. He only had a mare crush on her, but it turns out, his crush is now his biggest enemy. He hated her at that point. How can the one whom he had thought of every single time and always wished to see a smile blame him for such a huge allegation. He couldn’t defend himself because she was known for her humility and it was concluded that he r***d her forcefully. Dave, who was still in shock, wondered if this was the same girl whom he adored, her mellifluous voice and dazzling smile was the same person falsely accusing him. Dave was still in shock and ashamed of himself. He wondered if he had actually done it unconsciously because, at least, he was attracted to her. He was so confused that he started falling backwards in life. Dave would most times forget the things he had to do .He was always lost. Dave, who used to be resplendent, was now dull and no longer full of life and action. He got really depressed about the situation. He wondered how he could take care of a child that wasn’t his.He wasn’t even ready to be a father and he was so scared. He worried if he was going to love the child truly or would it remind him of the pain. He unfortunately fell sick and his sister was the only one taking care of him at that point. Dave's illness started getting serious and he was rushed to the hospital. Mr Owen had to go and see him only to find out that he was diagnosed with go ulcer. Dave hadn’t been eating quite well and the ulcer was spreading. The injury inside his stomach was getting too much. Due to the fact that he had all these things going on inside his head, he resorted to drinking to take him away from reality. He found it as a means to pass time. Dave was put on medication as the sickness was quite deadly if not properly taken care of. He was asked to avoid some certain foods and especially alcohol as this would trigger the pain. With all this happening, Tessy still remains silent and decides to avoid him. She wasn’t even seeing him nor talking to him. All the time he had been in the hospital, she had never gone to check up on him. She stayed indoors. Dave wondered what he had done to deserve all this. He wished his problems and worries would end. He only wants to be happy, but it seems as if life has other plans installed for him. With all this happening, Mr Owen actually lost all hope in Dave. He was really angry and upset that the one person whom he had trusted and taken in as his own child would do such a thing to his own daughter. He had it in mind to throw Dave out of the house but had to reconsider because of his sister. His daughter had brought him shame and he didn’t know what to do to cover it up as he was a well-known judge. People respected him for the way he carried himself. He brags about his family, especially his daughter. It was really hard to believe his daughter would do such a thing. That was why it was easier to believe that Dave might have actually taken advantage of her. He also wondered what he was thinking when he brought in some more children from the streets without any background history. He blamed himself so much. He regretted his intention and was really disappointed in Dave. He never imagined that something like this could happen and now he was going to pay the price. Mr Owen, who hates being humiliated, struggled to find a way to put things or set things right. He couldn’t endanger the life of his daughter by asking her to short the Mr Owen finally decides that instead of bringing his name to shame, he would rather his daughter get married to Dave but before that he had to put Dave in a position to be able to cater for his family. He decided that he was going to employ him. He was going to be working in his office for the meantime and then, if he did well, he would be promoted. Upon hearing this, Dave was confused as to whether to be angry or happy. He wanted a of course, but it was at the attest of losing his pride and good name. He was confused but decided to stick to the decision at that point. His life started to improve as he resumed work on Monday and before time passed he was picking up really fast. More people began to sign more deals with the company. Mr Owen, upon seeing this, decided to promote him to be the manager of the company.
