Mistaken Identity

Vena Her head throbbed. Opening her eyes to the dim light was excruciating. The dreams she had were so odd and terrifying. Big giant wolves mixed with Victor closing in on her and chaining her up. She went to move her head to her hands but couldn't. She tried to wiggle but still nothing. With a gasp she opened her eyes. Her arms were bound over her head. Her ankles were tied together and were tied in front of her. Horror drenched her in that moment. Oh God. He found her. How? One of his men? What were they going to do with her. 'You're awake. Good.' The voice was raspy. And deep. Looking around the dim room she couldn't see anyone. From the shadows to her right a figure appeared. 'How do you feel?' Looking up she saw the owner of the voice. The guy had on a pair of jeans. He smelled like bar soap and yet had the slight smell of fresh dug earth. Pieces of tissues clung to his jaw like he just shaved. How did she feel? Did he just ask that? Who was this guy? Her heart felt like it was going to blast out of her chest. His chuckle was humorless. 'I bet you're wondering a lot of things right now. Don't worry. I have no interest in hurting you. Unless you give me a reason.' 'Let me go.' She managed to say. She saw his eyebrow c**k up. 'Huh. I always assumed maidens who find themselves tied up and in a strange place usually ask,' His voice took on a fake high pitch tone. 'Where am I? Who are you? Please, I'll do anything.' If she wasn't tied up and scared out of her mind she'd have laughed. 'I have a thousand dollars in my bag. Let me go, it's all yours. I won't say anything to anyone.' Amusement was glinting in his eyes. 'You are an odd one aren't you? You are terrified yet you have not begged yet.' 'I know who you are.' She cursed the hitch that caught in her throat. 'You do?' 'Yes. You work for him don't you?' 'Who?' She scanned his eyes. Confusion was back in the depths. She remained silent but still held his gaze. 'Is someone after you, sweet Vena?' She stiffened. So it was true. If he knew her real name then he did work for Victor. She cleared her throat. 'Lister Mr….?' He smiled. Not a creep smile but a nice soft one. 'Villr. Johnathan Villr.' 'Villr. I'm sure we can come to another arrangement that does not involve you handing me over.' His smile now turned playful. 'Oh? What did you have in mind?' 'Um…you could…I mean…I know things about Victor. Things he'd rather keep quiet about. If you knew some of these things you could have an advantage over him.' 'Really.' She watched him pace at the foot of the bed and then turn back to her. 'If this is true then why are you running?' He had her there. s**t! "Well…I just wanted to be free. From everything. Mostly of his plans for me. But knowledge is power, right? Imagine if you knew somethings that he never wanted anyone to know except his chosen few? You could be in his circle. Higher up from henchmen right?' 'What makes you think this bargain won't be renegade?' Vexation bloomed inside her leaving frost to spread through her. Glaring at him, her voice sounded cold even to her. 'Simple. When you either hand me over or he comes and gets me I'll tell him everything I know. When he asks how I know I'll tell him you told me. He won't kill me. But you mean nothing to him.' He laughed. 'Okay. I had fun. But my curiosity is now definitely peaked. Who is Victor? She froze. What the hell? 'Your boss, stupid!' 'I don't have a boss. I don't know this Victor. Never said I did.' Frustrated she thrashed against her restraints. 'Then who the hell are you? What do you want?! Why do you have me tied up?' He laughed again. 'There it is! I was wondering when those questions were going to come?' 'Look, dumbass! Let me go! There's someone out there looking for me. If you don't work for him you don't want him catching me with you. Especially in this position. You'll be dead before your body hits the ground.' His laugh this time was louder. 'This just gets better and better.' Getting a wooden chair he dragged it to her side and straddled it. 'Okay, little one. Tell me your story and I'll tell you mine.' 'Screw you!' She gasped when he lunged. His faces an inch from hers. 'Is that an offer?' He asked softly. She must have lost her mind but it was clear he wasn't going to let her go anytime soon. So she did what she did on instinct. What she did sometimes to several of Victor men they thought could just touch her anywhere at anytime. He was in the right position. She spit in his eye and raised her knee. She didn't thing she got him too hard but just enough right between the legs. She stiffened at the sound of a growl that came from him before he rolled to the side of her clutching himself. She tried to scoot as far away as she could but it was impossible. After a minute of loud tension in the air she didn't realize she had been holding her breath. He looked up at her slowly. His eyes had a dangerous light in his dark eyes. Oh great.
