Episode 4: Dinner From Hell

So here I am sitting beside Josh at his mother's dinner his two sister sat in front of me while his parents sat at the head of the table. His one sister I think name was Juliet was quiet, and didn't really say to much, but his sister Jessica kept giving me this look. I didn't want to have no problems with anyone in Josh's family, but this b***h with the eye rolls and s**t she was about to get it.

"How's the food Autumn"? His mom asked.

"Good me and the baby love the stem vegetables" I replied with a smile.

The food was very good whoever the chef was he did his thing in the kitchen. Usually I would have a hard time keeping things down with this baby and everything, but tonight he was cooperating greatly.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think this is right" Jessica said out loud.

"excuse me"? I said to her sitting my fork down.

"Josh was with Danisha that was his girlfriend and then he gets you pregnant, and you convince him to leave his girlfriend to play house with you when ya'll could've just co-parent".

I looked at Josh and he replied "Jessica chill you don't know what the hell you talking about".

"Oh brother I do I heard about Autumn here you basically trapped my brother cause that's what hoes do".

"Jessica that's enough"! Their mom said slamming her hand on the table.

"Hoe? Look I did somethings in my past that I'm not proud of, but as far as me trapping your brother that was never the case and I did not convince him to leave Danisha okay get your facts straight before you come at me sis"!

"Not your sis and will never be like I said Josh you made a mistake with this you gave away a good girl with Danisha".

Josh blew off "man come on Autumn we out". He said getting up from the table and then helping me up from the chair.

"Josh son don't leave" his dad said, also getting up "you know how your sister is".

Josh grabbed my hand and said to his dad "nah we leaving she's not about to stress the mother of my child out. Ya'll never put ya'll foot down with Jessica because she's the adopted child, but she needs to be checked. This was my decision to leave Danisha and become a family man with the girl who's carrying my kid. She didn't put no bullet to my head, so whatever Danisha told you is a lie, but you won't believe it Jess because your so far up Danisha's ass it's like your f*****g her or something".

I stood there speechless Josh had really just gave it to his sister that once he went off she had nothing to say. She just threw the napkin on the plate slid her chair back violently and tried to run up on Josh, but their mom stepped in and blocked her. Whole time this was going on Juliet was just eating her food like nothing was going on something was really up with that girl.

"You get a hoe b***h pregnant and think you can come at me about my s**t"? Here she goes again calling me a hoe.

"Girl watch your mouth please"! I said walking around Josh, but he grabs me.

"Or what you can't do s**t your pregnant stupid hoe"? I tried to pry Josh's hands off me because she was about to get a ass whooping now.

"Baby relax come on it's not worth putting the baby in risk" Josh said as him and his dad tried to calm me down.

As their mom was hold Jessica back his mom turned to us and said "Josh, Jared get her out of here before s**t gets worst. Juliet would you stop stuffing your damn face and help me with Jessica this girl is strong".

She was saved this time from a ass whopping, but I'm adding her to the list of ass whooping I gotta hand out when I drop this baby.

I watched Autumn sleep its been one crazy night I knew my sister would feel some type of way, but I never thought she would pull the s**t she pulled tonight. She was just going to have to accept the fact that me and Danisha was over and that there was nothing that was going to change that. Right now my only focus was Autumn and my son's health deep down I was scared as f**k was I really ready to be someone's daddy. Another thing that scared me was raising a young black boy in today's world knowing the s**t us black men go through now. I know me teaching my son the "hands up don't shoot" technique will hurt my heart, but it's something he'll need to know just like my father taught me if we want survive this cold world.

"What you thinking about"? Autumn asked me.

"I thought you was asleep girl" I said smiling looking at her face as the moonlight shined on it.

"I was but you took your hand off my belly" I look down and saw I hand moved my hand.

"When you move it baby J started kicking like crazy".

I chuckled "oh s**t my bad son you need to stop kicking your momma now you hear me"? I said talking to her stomach.

"So what was you thinking about hope it wasn't what happen at your parents place"?

"Nah I was thinking of what type of father would I be to our son"?

"Are you scared"? She asked.

"No...Well yea I am what if I don't teach him something and it cost him his life"?

"Josh don't think like that yes your this baby boy's father and yes you can teach him everything you want, but just like me and you this boy is going to have a mind of his own. He's going to have to make mistakes it's part of life".

I then ask "I get that, but what if I teach him the wrong way to lift his hands when he's confront by a officer and he loses his life Autumn"?

"Josh you shouldn't even be thinking about that". She said to me now sitting up in bed.

"Look I just don't want our son gunned down over something I taught him wrong alright"?

She just looked at me "well that's why we pray that the world will change by the time he grows up and if it don't then when that time comes we teach him together okay"?

I nod my head then watch her lay back and to get comfortable and I say before she falls back to sleep. You called him baby J do you got a name for him yet"? She grinned and said "Jace" Josh said the name in his head a few times before saying "Jace I like that". After a few minutes they both were knocked out asleep.
