Chapter Seven
Matt's Point of View
Waking up slowly, my head was killing me. After last night, I am never, ever drinking again. Who am I kidding? yes I am. Rolling over the bed, I smacked against some one. Looking down, it was Peyton, laid sleeping by my side. Smiling, I leaned down and kissed her cheek before getting out of bed and making My way to the bath room.
We still hadn't thought of a way out of here yet, but, we're thinking. Maybe taking a break from every thing and getting jobs here was a bad idea after all. I got in the shower quickly and washed, before getting out again and getting dressed. Deciding on a plain white wife beater, jeans, sneakers and of course my hat and sun glasses for today.
It is so hot here, if I didn't put them on, my eye balls would probably fry!
Walking back into the bed room part of the cabin, Peyton was awake and sat up in bed, now actually dressed in some thing.
'Hey,' she smiled and got out of bed, walking over to me.
'Hey right back. What are you up to today?' I asked. She shrugged. 'Oh, exciting'
'Isn't it just. What are your plans?'
'Probably just, hang out some where, try to write, I should probably call Vi-..umm...home, probably call home' She nodded. 'Um...I'll phone the guys up, tell them to meet us in the lunch hall..with the girls' She smiled and nodded again. 'Do you want to borrow one of my shirts?'
'Oh, yes please, my clothes are in my cabin'
'Well, duh, that's why I asked' She playfully slapped my arm. I walked over to the draws that had my T-shirts in them and grabbed a random one. Passing it to her, she put it one. 'Humm...your lucky, that's my favourite shirt'
'Well, I'll have to be extra careful then won't I?' We shared a smile and headed out the door. I'll text the guys on the way.
Arriving at the hall, the guys were already there, well, all except Doug and Sarah. We went in and the girls went straight over to the kitchen. We followed and helped out with breakfast. All though, by the time it says on a clock. It's more like lunch.
'Morning all!' Doug shouted as he walked in. We all turned to look at him. He was alone. How strange.
'Its afternoon moron!' I called back, which earned me the middle finger and a smack from Peyton, Followed by one from Katie and then finally a snack across the face from Jenna' 'Ow, Ow, OW!. What were those for?' I asked, rubbing my now sore face.
'Don't call him that!' Jenna yelled.
'Hey, I thought you liked me' Joe pouted.
'Awwww...I do Joey, but Doug is our hero, he saved our best friend from death...TWICE!' We ohhhh'ed and apologised to him. Acting smug he walked over to us, only to trip and fall flat on his face.
'Are we allowed to laugh at him?' Zander asked, trying so hard not to laugh, the girls nodded before bursting into fits of laughter themselves. We all started laughing at him as the door to the dining hall opened and in walked Sarah.
'Hi,' She waved. All the girls ran over to her, hugging her.
'Are you okay?' I heard Peyton ask. She nodded and they all made there way back over to us.
'Hi' Zand greeted with a wave.
'Hey' Joe simply said. I guess no one really knew what to say. We hadn't gotten to know her like we knew the other girls so to us, she was basically a stranger.
'Hi, you feeling better?' I randomly asked, not knowing what else to say. She smiled and nodded.
We all finished cooking together and went to sit at the big long table to eat. It was big enough to fit every one there. I sat at the top of the table, Peyton sat to my right, next to her was Katie, next to her was Zander, then Joe directly opposite me at the other end of the table, then next to him was Jenna then Sarah next to her and Doug next to Sarah and to my left.
'Isn't that Matt's shirt?' Doug asked with a mouth full of food, using his fork to point at Peyton's top.
'Um..yeah it is' She told him. Every one had looked up.
'Matt's favourite shirt?' He asked again.
'Yeah, so I've heard' She said simply, looking down at her food. I kicked Doug under the table.
'Oh. He doesn't even let Vickie wear that' I kicked him harder. 'OW!'
'Who's Vickie?' Peyton asked. The guys shot me a look.
'His wife' Joe answered quickly, not even looking at me. Pey dropped her fork.
'Oh, you're..um.. you're married?' That was obviously directed at me. I looked up. She seemed shocked more than any thing.
'Yeah' I admitted and quickly looked away again, feeling like a total ass. She got up and walked out of the dining hall. I could feel every ones eyes on me. Deciding to give her some space, I carried on eatting and the rest of breakfast was filled with uncomfortable silence. Thanks Doug!....
