I watch her sleep like a creep, bruises all over her hands and legs.

"For a human, she sure heals faster than most" Reign states, observing her busted knee.

Now that I think of it, she's never been shaken..up until the time I morphed into something I've never been. My fur's a majestic black, maybe even shinier than Dane's.

It's why I like her, she not into me at all. I just assumed it's another toy my betas brought into the fold.They love to play nice. She actually wants to solve this pointless case.

She humms and turns, wincing herself awake. She's heavily medicated. Trammel made sure they used the strong stuff.

"Whererrr am I?" poor girl, can't even lift a finger, "Too strong?" Reign just gives a blank stare, when he's plotting something.

"She'll be fine," he states leaving," Let her rest. We need to talk."

There no room for argument.

We momentarily pause hearing a rapt sound and turn sniffing. She just farted back to sleep.....WOW

"If you make me sit on you again my betas won't respect you," I state ,"What happened?"

Rick habitually runs his hands on his soft brown with light highlights steeling his hands, "It's never happened before."

My eyes narrow, "Since when did your eyes turn blue?"

He eyes me and I watch his eyes cloud and turn orange then back to his normal ones. I relax a bit. Last thing I need are those pesky shifters around my space. Creepy little things.

"When did this start?"

He shrugs, taking a long swig from his bourbon bottle, as he calls it.

"A few days before she came in. Look at this" He says and I lean forward with intrigue. "New Ink?" without me no less..

"It grew the moment she kissed me."

I scoff. "Just kissed?" I eye the design and intricate web of branches weaving their way onto his left blade from his collar. It's amazing.

"Ayana's planning a revolt, seems too well timed" I'm piecing things out of place, watching how he's taking this. He makes a wrong move ill need to put him down.

"She just wants her own tribe and not be her alpha's mistress. But betas can't beget an alpha unless-"

"They're claimed by one." I finish, " This was ballsy, even for her." I note my omegas haven't brought any news about the secret meeting. She must be keeping a tight lid on this. I want to see how far she goes.

"Demeritus has been seen around shifter territory the last few weeks," Rick butt's in, " he's always up for new allies"

I grin darkly "I'm not sacrificing my omegas for s**t. We've survived this long without them." I crinkle my nose "Why do they smell so bad anyway?"

he just shrugs around a yawn, "The auditors will be around town after the full moon, thank goodness. I can't imagine what Dane would do to you know who." my wolf stirs at the mention of the name we swore wouldn't be said again. I don't appreciate this. I happen to like normal.

Shifters come in and out. But this group made a home among one of demeritus' many covens.

Kai, my head beta barges in looking between us. I raised him as a pup. "It's me..dickhead " I state. How alike are we?

"Y-yes I-I have some news. We have tourists visiting the Coven village next week and residence at our place, security is on point." he stands stoic, and we eye him patiently.

"You could have just called", I state

I raised this boy and he still shakes, f*****g eh

He swallows and goes on "Lemon and her crew crushed in my ride here for some reason...they really insisted it couldn't wait."

Rick's brows hit his hairline as he stands and warily approaches me. This isn't how I planned to tell this

Kai takes his leave silently closing the door to an unsuspecting servant locked in with us. I feel the tingles again,Dane wants to go to her. I really don't like this.

"You too??" He asks, "When!?" he demands, "Alastair called." he stills. It's only happened one time, with a lady who broke me...us.

"Dane wants to claim her." The force of my words hit me..."It's the first time he's wanted something" till he ripped through my resistance training turn at will.

We share a look and slowly face the trembling servant. Poor Jeremy, he's a good one...to scare..
