The night was unusually quiet. Aira stood outside her small village home, staring at the full moon shining above the mountains. She had always loved the moon, but tonight something felt different. A strange warmth spread across her palm. She looked down. A glowing silver mark had appeared on her hand—a crescent moon surrounded by tiny stars. Aira froze. “What is this?” she whispered. The moment she touched the mark, a sudden wind swept through the village. The candles inside every house went out at once. Then she heard a voice. “The princess has awakened.” Aira turned around quickly. Nobody was there. Suddenly, a black horse appeared at the end of the village road. A mysterious young man dressed in dark clothes sat upon it. His eyes were fixed on Aira's glowing hand. He slowly approached her. “Who are you?” Aira asked nervously. The stranger stopped in front of her. “My name is Kael.” “How do you know about this mark?” Kael looked toward the moon. “Because I've been searching for it for seventeen years.” Aira's heart began beating faster. “What does it mean?” Kael hesitated before answering. “It means you are not who you think you are.” Before Aira could ask another question, a terrifying roar echoed from the forest. Kael immediately drew his sword . “They've found you.” “Who?” Kael looked at her with fear in his eyes. “The Shadow Kingdom.” And somewhere deep inside the forest, two red eyes opened.
