Belinda’s pov It took us a while to agree on the same mattress, but eventually we found one. After paying for it, we tied it to the bed of the truck. As we were about to get into the truck, this smell hit my nose. It smelled amazing, I couldn’t help but follow it. I grabbed Gavin’s hand and started pulling him, he laughed. “Where are we going?” “To find that scent, whatever it is, smells absolutely wonderful!” I had no idea where we were headed, but I couldn't seem to control myself. “It’s coming from the Italian restaurant down the road. Come on, we’ll grab an early lunch before we go back.” He continued to chuckle as he led me towards the scent. I had never smelled anything like it before. I could smell garlic, butter, tomato, and I don’t know what else. We walked into the restaurant and Gavin told the man at the front that is would just be the two of us. The building was built and decorated in such a peaceful way. Murals all over the walls of buildings near the water, beautiful vineyards as well. I wonder where these pictures are painted from. As we were led to our seats, we passed another couple’s table. The woman had the most wonderful smelling food in front of her. “Someone will be by in a moment to ask what we want to drink. They will also bring us menus and give us a few minutes to decide what food we want.” He is so sweet, explaining everything to me. “I already know what I want, whatever that woman over there has.” I tried to discreetly point to the table we passed. “It is a pasta dish, I’ll have to look at the menu to tell you what it is.” He smiled at me and grabbed my hand. Our waiter came and she introduced herself as Amanda. She did exactly as Gavin said she would. Gavin asked for water for us both and while she was gone, he looked at the menu. “It’s the sausage, pasta, and white wine sauce.” Gavin said and my stomach grumbled in response. We both laughed, “It won’t take them to long to make our food since there aren’t to many people here yet.” The waiter came back with our drinks and Gavin told her what we wanted. “Thank you for bringing me here today.” I’m so glad that I got to experience all of this with him. “Baby, you're welcome. I promise I will always to care of you, I will always be there for you, and I will always love you.” He moved his free hand to my face and touched my cheek. “I promise the same.” I said as a tear fell from my eye. I suddenly felt like crying because my heart is so full. I leaned my head into his hand and took deep breaths. I really didn’t want to cry in this strange place. My eyes found the paintings again, “Where do these paintings take place? They are so beautiful.” “I’m sure that they are places in Italy, though I can’t be certain where in that country.” I knew he was watching me look over the walls, but I couldn’t help but continue to look. “I’ll take you there one day.” My eyes jumped to him, “Really?” I squealed a little, as much as I hate to admit it. “Thank you!” Our food came soon and I ate my whole plate. I felt ridiculous because the amount of food that I was given was massive. I regret nothing though, it was so good. We left for home soon, Gavin’s mom wanted us to come over this afternoon. I was excited to tell her about the food. I wonder if Casen could make this dish. When we made it to the house, Gavin brought in our new mattress inside while I unloaded the supplies we bought for my new orders. When I came inside, Gavin was descending the stairs with the things he will need for work tonight. I went over and hugged him, not wanting to let him go. Wrapping his arms around me, he lifted my head and kissed me slowly. He dropped his bag to the floor, picked me up, and carried me upstairs to our new bed. “Baby, I feel you.” He said, and I knew he meant that he could feel my emotions. I could feel him too, his love for me was just as strong. Eventually, we made it to his family’s house. His parents were done working for the day in the field, but his brothers hadn’t made it home yet. We sat around the table as I told them about our morning and the amazing food. I saw a glint in May’s eyes, but she never said any more about it. We played a few card games before we got dinner on the table. Gavin’s brothers came in right when we were about to start. Jax and Cayen shared about their respective day. Jax didn’t really say much since he can’t talk about his patience, but he did say that it was productive. Cayen created a burrito bar for the pack house dinner, making everything he could from scratch. “That reminds me, Cayen, I need you to learn to make the dish that I had for lunch. It was so amazing!” Everyone laughed at me, maybe I was a little more dramatic than normal about it. “Well, I need to know what you had to learn how to make it.” He said, looking between me and Gavin. “She had this sausage, pasta, and white wine sauce from that Italian place in the human town.” Gavin smiled at me before he leaned over and kissed my head. “It’s time for me to go. Do you want mom to drive you back tonight?” I shook my head, “I feel confident that I can drive myself safely there.” I stood with him and walked him to the door. “Alright, but I want you to leave soon so you aren’t driving in the dark.” He kissed me soundly before opening the front door. “And, I want you to let me know when you get home.” I nodded my head and shooed him out the door. “Dear, I don’t mind driving you at all, but he’s right. You need to get used to driving during the day before you attempt it at night.” May said. “This is as good a time as any to drive solo, if I get in a bind I’ll let you know.” I said and gave everyone a goodnight hug.
