The Montesilva Company didn’t mourn. It waited.

Too young to lead, too unprepared to fight, Elara was pushed to the sidelines while powerful people quietly positioned themselves around what she was meant to inherit.

Timothy Grey.

The man her father trusted. The man who stepped in when everything started falling apart.

Sa mata ng lahat, he was family. Untouchable. Off-limits.

Years passed. Elara grew up, graduated, and slowly stepped into the world she was once shielded from. But some truths don’t stay buried. Some lines blur when time, proximity, and silence stretch too long.

When the past resurfaces and old protections begin to crack, Elara is forced to face a reality she was never prepared for. One where power has a price, loyalty has conditions, and the heart refuses to follow rules.

Because in a world built on appearances, the most dangerous thing she could do… is choose who she loves.

Five days. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to move on. He was my anchor, my shield, my protector. We were inseparable. I’m worried my mom would give up without him. I want my dad back, please. Sa huli, nakaisang subo lang ako at piniling pumikit muli. I woke up hearing gossip outside my bedroom, kaya sa unang pagkakataon, lumabas ako. Dumiretso ako sa kwarto nila Daddy. Walang tao. I was about to go out when a framed photo of him caught my eye. Inabot ko ’yon at pinakatitigan. I miss you. Yumuko ako, saka mahigpit na niyakap ’yon. And then, the tears came again. I walked past the study room. “We can arrange the wedding early morning tomorrow, at the mayor’s office,” boses ni Attorney Ramos ’yon—our family lawyer. “A trusted friend of your dad,” nauutal na sagot ni Mommy. Kumunot ang noo ko. I’d never seen him before. Or maybe I did, but I just couldn’t remember. Muli kong ibinalik ang tingin sa kanila. “Whose wedding is it?” “Let’s talk about this later, Atty. Ramos. Tim,” paalam ni Mommy sa mga ito. Agad na tumayo si Atty. Ramos at nagpaalam. “Tim—” “I’m marrying your mom,” putol ng lalaki. Shock was an understatement. He didn’t. He meant it. Hindi makapaniwalang nilingon ko si Mommy. I waited for her to say anything that would pacify the rage building up inside me. “Ely, I—we need Tim’s help to—” “I love your mom, Elara,” simpleng sabat ng lalaki. “Don’t even say a word, you…” I cried for my father—for the constant pain in my chest. Walang kumausap sa’kin. I also missed their wedding, which I think they never even intended to include me in. I couldn’t believe how fast it all happened. Ayokong makita silang magkasama—no, nandidiri ako sa kanila. I hated how our house turned into the place I didn’t want to be in the most.
