"Is he a new guy?" I inquired in hushed tones. Mike slowly stroked his palm down the back of my neck.
"Oh, my gosh, yes! You should go see him because he's tasty. "But you've had Mike, so I've got first dibs," Kate remarked, a smile on her face as she skipped beside me. "I don't know what his name is yet, but Hottie McTottie is a good fit for him." As she looked at me, she waggled her eyebrows, and I couldn't help but chuckle at her.
Jake slung his arm over her shoulder and kissed her on the cheek. "You know, Kate, I'm not accustomed to the fact that you don't want me. His cheeky grin was on his face as he said, "I'm not sure I like this new behavior."
