"Are you saying that you want to share a bed with my daughter, Mike?"
"Is that 'yes, I may share a bed with your daughter'?" I tried to lighten the atmosphere by cracking jokes. She chuckled when she realized it had worked.
"All right, that's OK." She sniffed loudly as she nodded, rolled her eyes, and sniffed.
I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. I'm certain that everything will turn out alright. I assured them, "Jake and I will keep an eye out for you both." I wrapped my arms around her.
She smiled and nodded. That is without a doubt in my mind. Just keep an eye out for Jake on my behalf. With a grimace on her face, she remarked, "I have a feeling he's going to do something stupid and get himself into trouble."
