I don't know what to say or do. Franco looks at me, waiting for an answer, although he doesn't seem very upset. Why did it have to be just now that my Nikki worries me?

I take a deep breath, and my cell phone keeps insisting.
“Answer! I think I know who's calling you.”
I listen and take out my cell phone—it's Maria.
