I didn't understand anything. I wanted to believe that Margot was just confused, like a child.
"Is something wrong?" she asks, and I look at Nikki. "Girl, Ga..."
"Nikki! I’m Nikki! Margot, I’m Nikki! Nikki!" she screams, looking into her eyes, while Margot appears very confused.
"Huh? But what's wrong with you, girl?"
"Shhhh!" Nikki tries to stop me from saying more.
"Nikki!" I raise my voice, a little upset. Perhaps it’s all the confusion, plus the fact that I hadn't slept and was about to collapse. "Did I ask you a question, darling?"
"Well…"
"Wait, do you already know…?" It can’t be that my Nikki already knows her father. "Nikki?"
She nods her head, and I cover my mouth in shock.
"My Nikki already knows her father!"
"I'm sorry, Mom."
