"Katy? Is something wrong?" I ask when I notice her looking worried.
"It's Maria. She hasn't answered my calls. She said she would arrive tomorrow with Nikki on the afternoon flight. I'm worried."
"If only you knew that she arrived yesterday and is in New York. According to her, her boyfriend insisted on coming to see him, which I still find hard to believe."
"Don’t worry. He must be finishing some work before he comes. Instead, look at this." I hand her the latest report released by an important pollster.
"We’re fourth. Your husband’s company beat us this time. Shouldn’t you be cheerful?" I continue, noticing she’s still worried about Nikki.
"Yes, I know. Mauro told me yesterday."
"Katy, take that worried look off your face. Nikki is coming to New York.
