Mauro's POV
Despite all the work I had accumulated, spending hours talking to Grandpa and thinking about how I would tell Katy about our daughters, I still made time to get home at dawn and surprise her. I must say that it was gratifying to come home tired and enjoy her scent and her body—my favorite pastime.
“Mauro? Are you awake yet?”
“Yes, my wife didn't let me sleep all night.” She clings more tightly to my chest.
“I'm sorry, I'm just anxious to see Nikki. I haven't seen her for so long; I can't wait, Mauro.” If only she knew Nikki is at the mansion.
“Don’t worry, honey. I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter for the first time, too. By the way, what time did you say the flight was arriving?”
