Help! Help!
I had barely eaten anything. All I cared about was keeping my baby alive. She was starting to turn purple and wasn’t crying. The doctor had supposedly said she would be fine after a few hours of travel, so why was this happening? Why!
"Help!" I shouted as soon as I arrived at the place where I had spent my last years—the place where my parents had abandoned me, Mexico.
“What’s wrong? Oh my goodness! Katy!”
“Maria, help me! My baby is dying, she’s dying!”
She stood almost motionless, barely able to utter a word.
“Y-your baby?”
“Maria!”
“I’m coming! I’m coming! Santiago, help! It’s Katy!”
