Trouble Afoot
By the time Edmund stopped yelling about his gold find, and subsequent search for more, darkness was upon them. They had set up small pup tents figuring they would be easier to carry, and made a small fire. Charles began to get out their rations of canned beans and potted meat. Owen had given Charles money to buy food and that’s what he bought. Owen was pissed to say the least.
"What did you buy for breakfast, Poptarts?" asked Owen with a snarl.
"Hey, I like Poptarts!"
That's when Owen told Edmund to remind him to kill Charles
when this excursion was over. Later, as they settled into their tents and were ready to sleep, the noises of the desert wilderness started Charles.
"What kind of animal is making all that noise?"
