Chapter 21 Old Prospector Ben was leading the way, growing weary from the heat, humidity, and steady trot of his horse. He was wishing he could have gotten those ATV’S. He put up his hand to signal Joe and John to stop, he thought he had heard a noise. Everyone became very quiet. The sound of a steady whistle to the tune of a song they did not recognize was lilting in the air. Around the bend came a friendly looking man, tall and lean in his saddle. He appeared to be in his eighties but he looked fit enough and in good health. He spotted the three men bringing a huge smile to his face. "Why, hello gentlemen. It has been a few months since I’ve seen another human being in these mountains. Sometimes, when you’re up in these mountains long enough, you tend to forget anybody else is alive.
