Lord Vincent patted irina lightly on the shoulder then left the hall. General remained silent then started walking slowly heading towards the window overlooking the palace front garden with irina behind. "The weather is beautiful." general commented while watching the gardens. "sure it is." irina agreed."guess you are the one who recommended me to lord." "I am the one." he replied shortly. "can you at least tell me why?" irina asked and went to stand beside him on the window. "not everything requires logics." he answered calmly with far away look in his eyes. "some are just meant to be." Everyone knew of general's answers he never gave straight ones, always acted as if he saw things in the far future which no one knew of, and irina felt this was one of those answers carrying wisdom from beyond the grave. "you are leaving Skyler this afternoon." he then let irina process it, "There is a mission of far greater importance saving us from fighting mountainers head on." "what's that supposed to mean?" irina knew how to maintain her composure even on such sudden news, there was no other way than fighting mountainers head on and sure as hell general knew that too "you'll be sent to retrieve the sceptre of the kings from earth." then general turned to look at irina direct in the face. irina gaped at the general she couldn't believe what she heard, retrieve the sceptre? if her memories served correct the sceptre was supposed to have been destroyed on earth during pre-world war. "isn't it destroyed?" irina questioned amazed. "That was what meant to be believed." general replied as he looked at the time from his pocket watch. "I ain't got all day of explaining everything to you so I'll be quick and brief." irina shook her head in agreement, by the look of things it seemed time was of essence and there wasn't much to explain about their capital history and earth, further more history never was her favorite subject to begin with. "The sceptre still exist but don't know it's exact specific location, for it was lost in a nation we fought against during the pre-world war." general returned to look at the gardens. "though now is known by a different name from then, it's called America." "Then how do you expect to find a spectre in a damn nation!" irina cried frustrated. "Don't worry we do have people loyal to us on earth they'll help you in the quest of finding the sceptre." general assured her, "by using the dimensional gates you'll be dropped in an area closer to the sceptre's location, and don't ask me how for it was a physics which never did I understood ." "And here i thought all the gates were malfunctioning." "Most of them aren't working properly there is only one gate which still do function it's located at the time tower, I wouldn't give it my full credibility though." general finished with a warning. "That means probability on top of probability." irina said accompanied with a sigh. "I would have said odds against odds but still probability gives it clear a explanation." "Then how will I know loyal ones on earth?" "I'll give you a list of families who are loyal to us, we had an agreement with them upon a time we visited earth, during the war they accepted certain conditions like to never change their surname in case we return to earth no matter how many years later, I do believe most would've perished already but for the few remaining will provide the help needed." he explained to her. Irina remained quiet as she processed the information the mission which lay in front of her was too risky to lose, she had to do everything within her power for it to become successful in order to increase their chance of winning against mountainers. "when will I leave?" she asked the general. "Soon, your escort is ready to take you to the tower. Its path have been taken over arleady by mountainers." general replied then looked at his watch for the second time. "you should leave now and irina do remember there is an ultimatum four days at most, more than that mountainers will likely have taken over the city arleady." "well that won't be a pressure at all." she replied sarcastically, then turned to walk towards the doors. "before you leave lord Vincent have asked you to go and see your parents just you know for a little bit of luck." general shouted at irina. This made irina stop, she knew her parents they wouldn't let go off her easily and if they did she'll leave in lot of stress thinking of her. Going down on earth wow, it was a big deal even to her father no Skyler had ever been down since the pre-world war. But there was truth in general's words she needed to go see her parents first, after she had made the decision irina slowly closed the hall doors. *************
