Jay, ava and irina were sitting inside a cafe across the street looking over town museum. "saying the truth, I don't even know why I agreed with you." jay told them holding a can of soda in his hand. "you are a good friend, that's why." ava replied, jay scoffed at her comment. Ava and irina had visited the museum night before after ava agreed taking irina over, but failed breaking in due to the event which was held at the museum. ava reached the decision of convincing irina to come in the next day to get the sceptre, though irina didn't like that much. Then she opened to ava telling her there wasn't much time to waste for her capital was in blink of losing a war and sceptre is the only tool capable of changing that. Irina told ava where she came from and why she was on earth, ava wouldn't have believed her if it wasn't for what she witnessed, on how easily irina jumped over their wall and brushing her bullets shots aside. They guessed on the next day after event there would be presence of workers removing the decorations of the event, ava saw it was best to bring another person to distract the workers as they sneaked inside that's when she chose to bring jay over, after the dismissal of irina's suggestion of throwing people around for it would have raised too much alarm. Jay didn't buy their story at first, he thought it was a prank. irina had to prove herself by lifting the cups and plates off the shelf and left them floating in air before dropping, still Jay didn't want to help. Ava had to convince him some more on missing classes so as they could help Irina, finally jay agreed to go with them once he knew there was inter school competition hence no one would be bothered to find them exception of tony that is, now here he was at the museum going to buy some time with workers while Irina and ava would be sneaking around. "now is the proper time." irina spoke up, donut she had ordered was still on the plate untouched. "easy for you to say when I'm the one who'll be doing the talking as you'll all be busy sneaking around." jay commented, irina turned at ava who had sudden interest in her nails. Jay finished his soda and left them at the table throwing the can in dustbin on his way out. Both of them remained seated watching jay crossing the road and approaching the workers. After some time they stopped removing the decorations and gathered around jay, it looked as if he was explaining to them something. "let's leave." irina said. "agreed." ava replied. Irina and ava both stood up, ava left cash with tip on the table and took irina's donut with her, they had assured themselves back entrance wouldn't be secured. The backdoor wasn't locked, they easily slipped inside. storage room barely contained anything other than cleaning equipments there was another red door at the front of the room, when ava twisted its handle she faced the corridor. at the end of the corridor it led to a great hall, there were many subsections in the hall written and containing historical occurrences. "this is it." ava told Irina while looking around. "we have to find the section about man's cave." "I never imagined it would be this huge." irina awed. "let's split, that way we'll cover up more area." Irina didn't wait to be told twice. ava took right side, irina went left side. Ava passed on her first section written story of independence of america, in the second one was about voyages of great captains, third section showed evolution of man. Fourth one ava found what she was searching for, in front of its entrance written in capital letters The man cave. "found it." she called out. Irina was at the far end in the hall searching when ava called, she hurriedly went over too much time was already lost since she left Skyler and didn't wish losing much more. The words were carved in a board written in golden color, irina passed ava and entered first. Inside was different from outside the lantern was hanged at the top of the ceiling, statues of stone age people positioned around the room and it contained structures of caves with figurines of early people within. All this brought and bought feelings lost in centuries of time into the present. "wow, it's attractive." ava said in low voice. "haven't you been here?" irina asked while checking the statues arranged around the room. "I have but never really entered inside, I was twelve years old when our class came for tour. That time me entering in a place like this i found it boring, I escaped through the back door and went to water space park." she then laughed at the memory, "you should have seen me back then I was such an angel." "it doesn't sound angelic to me." a voice spoke behind them. both of them jumped when turned they saw jay. "Jesus, you scared me." ava said startled. "we told you to stall the workers." irina exclaimed. "worry out, I asked them to use museum toilet cause I needed peeing very badly." he mused. "very typical of you." ava muttered. "so, what did you guys find?" he asked. "nothing yet." ava replied. Irina was drawn toward the statues which formed a circle at the end of room, it had a group of stone age people sitting around the fire behind them a shield hanged on the wall. Irina advanced slowly to the figures her eyes glued on the shield when she reached the circle, irina extended her hand and removed the shield from its hinges, ava and jay were staring at her. "that's it?" ava asked not even trying hiding her suspicions, as she approached. "yap, this is the one." irina answered, her fingers tracing the top of the shield delicately feeling its texture. "not to disappoint, when you told me sceptre, I literally thought it would look more like Poseidon's trident." jay said frowning. "that is lame." "it's not the shield except a tool within it." irina corrected then raised the shield and threw it down.
