THE KINGS SCEPTRE

Upon impact shield broke to zillion pieces, in midst of fragments there was a sceptre. Shaped looking like a spear, the handle was made of pure silver and its head from pure gold, the sceptre was nearly three feet tall and shone with intensity it reflected from sun rays.

"wow." all of them exclaimed and moved closer to the sceptre.

"it's so bright." that was all jay could add.

irina picked up the sceptre, looking astonished.

"it was lost such a long time, that I myself assumed it was a myth." irina told them as she closely examined it.

"hate to interrupt your moment and all, we kind of overpassed our time. so let's pack your pole and get hell out of here." ava reminded them.

irina took the sceptre leaving the shield fragments on the ground and left headed out, reaching outside using the back door they found people waiting for them in the alley.

There was a black Chevrolet blocking one side of the alley with three men in suits standing outside of the car, on the other end there were four men in black together with Kirk theobald's head of security in his white shirt who stood in front of his men.

"we've been waiting for you miss." kirk said looking straight at irina.

Irina didn't know any of the men, but she had been around a lot of trouble to smell one a mile off before it happens and by the look of things she knew there was gonna rise one soon enough, jay and ava stood not knowing what to do.

"you know these dudes?" ava asked irina watching them warily.

"appreciate the escort, but I kindly deny your good gesture. We can walk very fine on our own two feet." she told kirk calmly ignoring ava's inquiry.

Kirk chuckled,

"maybe you've misunderstood me, that wasn't an offer rather than it was an order." he told her sternly.

"guess they don't each other after all." jay spoke up, ava took few steps back.

irina mainted the staring contest with Kirk then turned her head bit sideways to ava and jay.

"you better get out of here, use the back door as escape route to reach the front entrance. Leave these guys to me it's gonna get messy."

"we came together, we leave together." ava replied trying sounding bravado.

"this ain't your fight just leave, don't think about me. I've got this situation covered." she assured them, then returned her gaze to kirk.

"stay safe." ava told irina, giving her hand a little squeeze.

jay and ava slipped back in the museum heeding irina's advice, leaving her with theobald's men.

"how'd you find me?" irina asked him.

"is it that important?" kirk questioned back.

irina smirked,

"you are right it ain't that important." she rose her sideway head giving intimidating composure. "so, what do you want?"

"I'm not the one in need my boss is, you see he has taken very keen interest in you." he told her, "he has an offer for you."

"what's the name of your boss?" she demanded.

"you sure have many questions." he then looked aside before looking back at irina.

"Theobald, theobald rod."

Before she had left Skyler general told her to memorize all the names of crystal blood families, there were a one hundred and sixty three of them in total, but she never saw the family of rod clan. One of the treaty agreement between crystal blood families and Skyler government during their regime was that they were never supposed to change their family surname at all, the second was that once called using their respective code they were supposed to answer to it, with no questions asked.

That's why irina called the code 428 while talking to Mr addam for that was their family code none other, also the existence of Skyler nation was passed down among the crystal blood family members so if they were to return not to seem alien among the next generation of crystal family members. That is why after all the millenniums Mr addam still answered the call because he knew of them from the stories passed down in his clan.

Irina was also aware that during the pre-world war other people turned towards crystal blood families to terminate them and confiscate their wealth, she suspected that rod's were one of those groups, that was the only possible explanation of how theobald knew about them.

"sorry, never heard of him." she told him straight faced.

"well, that's too bad." kirk sympathized for her.

"it's too bad indeed." irina then removed the sceptre from cloths she covered it in.

One of the men standing near Chevrolet took out his g*n from the coat.

"you imbecile don't shoot, haven't you seen us on the other end." kirk warned him.

The man looked at his g*n then threw it inside the car and came out with police rod from car seat.

"that's better, men take out your rods and those having shock guns join the party, no bullets we don't want inviting the cops or worse hurt our little miss." he instructed them while looking at irina.

irina grinned wildly, no use of real guns at grownups party how stupid was that.

"charge!" he ordered his men.

"it's on." irina muttered under her breath.

The first one came running rod in hand she struck the rod out of his hand and kicked him on the head, second man was no wiser she beat him in stomach and tackled him down. another man had a shock g*n irina somersaulted and kicked him in the face, he landed graceful head first to the ground, one guy succeeded pinning irina from behind by then another whom irina had beaten punched her in stomach it removed all air from her lungs, this caused irina to raise both her feet getting balance from the one holding her behind and kicked the person who punched her.

One person from side shot her with shock g*n irina felt how the voltage jolted her body, she lost the balance and fell in her knees when the man raised his foot to kick her, irina brought down the sceptre she was holding so hard that it sent air wave throwing all men few meters away along with kirk.

jay and ava after reaching outside using front entrance, they turned their car around and parked at a distance from the alley waiting for irina, after few minutes irina came out of the alley dragging herself. Ava put the car in reverse and stopped beside irina, she opened the door and threw herself in, ava hit the accelerator and sped off.
