Marianna,
Three years ago, I broke my father's wrist for touching something I truly cherished. For a brief moment, he was too stunned to utter another word. But at the end of the day, he had to let it go.
The violent tendency was something he could never control, not when his daughter was born as an Alpha and a woman with a twisted mind.
The moment the whip swung toward me, I raised my hand and grabbed the edge of the rough whip. The sharp tips of the thorns dug into my palm, but I felt nothing.
Hundreds of swords had been held by this hand. And she thought she could hit me with a mere whip? The future Alpha of the Silverflame?
But silence soon fell over the room.
" What?" Seraphina gasped, and so did everyone else inside. The servants who had been quietly enjoying the drama looked as though they had seen a ghost.
I looked at the whip and smiled, " Lady Seraphina. You must have forgotten that trying to hit the Luna means hitting the Alpha!"
I wrapped the whip around my hand and pulled hard.
Her eyes widened as she lost her balance and hit her head against the edge of the glass table.
" Ugh!" She whimpered as blood started gushing from her forehead.
I grabbed the whip, staring at it quietly. She must have used it on my sister too.
I slowly stood up, my gaze fixed on the whip. When I was twelve, my mother gave Julianna ten thousand dollars just to go shopping.
A future Luna of a rich Alpha needed to know how to spend money generously. However, when I asked her why she had given me only a hundred bucks, my father used a similar kind of whip on my back.
An Alpha shouldn't get jealous over her sister's spending.
So, I knew exactly which part of the body hurt more.
I walked toward Seraphina, the whip hanging loosely from my hand as my footsteps grew louder.
The servants looked terrified as they couldn't get close under my Alpha Aura. They were trembling as Seraphina looked up at me, blood staining her beautiful face. Then I raised my hand with all the strength I had,
I swung it toward her. But just before the whip was about to land, she winced and closed her eyes.
I smirked and grabbed the other edge of the whip, stopping it an inch away from her back.
Her brows knitted together when she realized the hit hadn't landed on her. Slowly, she opened her eyes.
I crouched down in front of her and met her eyes, " Don't be scared!" I whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear while gently wiping the blood away.
" I don't hit pathetics."
Her eyes widened, " You -"
" Shush!" I pressed my finger against her lips, " It's alright. The fact that my Alpha roams around holding your hand, must have slept with you countless times, trusted you with the Pack's affairs, yet... He still didn't give you the title of Luna. Isn't it pathetic?"
Her eyes widened further. The color drained from her face instantly.
" I would have died from humiliation instead of roaming around like a useless tool. Don't you think he might eventually get bored of you and find another woman to replace you?"
Tears gathered in her eyes at this point. The place that hurt more than a hit from a whip was humiliation wrapped in truth. Bitter truth.
I rose to my feet and looked at the servants, " Please take her to the healer's office. And two of you... help me clean up this room. A Luna's room should belong only to the Luna. Not the mistress!"
The servants could barely stand properly. All of them quickly grabbed Seraphina and helped her to her feet. I sat back down on the chair, arms crossed, as I watched them leave the room one after another with her.
But just as the last two servants were about to leave, I lifted my hand. Two dark shadows surged toward them, wrapping around their ankles. They froze as Dawn's spirit slipped out of my body and rested on the floor beside me.
Their eyes widened, terror flashing behind them, " What - What are you doing?" they asked in unison.
" Clean up the room. Anything except the important documents, throw it out!"
Their expressions shifted when they saw me still holding the whip, casually playing with it. Then their attention shifted toward the giant Alpha wolf staring directly at them.
The sound of them swallowing nervously was audible even from here. But I didn't say anything. I simply leaned back in the chair, my eyes fixed on them.
" Yes, Alpha!"
I smirked when they called me Alpha. Rising to my feet, I walked toward them slowly. Both of them stiffened instantly.
" Good girls." I smirked, " I love obedience."
Those girls moved like robots as they cleaned up the room within an hour. I scrolled through the phone, carefully analyzing the political situation in the Blackhowl Wolf Pack.
Apart from the Alpha himself, the council held ten elders with authority in their hands. They had chosen Xavier Delanor because of his ruthlessness and strong personality.
However, judging from some comments made by the Pack members, Seraphina wasn't their favorite. Maybe that was why he failed to make her the Luna.
Well, that was good for me. Having the Elders on my side and letting the Lycan King know that the Blackhowl Wolf Pack and the Silverflame Wolf Pack had gone through a marriage alliance without his permission might ignite a fire.
But what truly caught my attention was one of the news articles. Ten years ago, the Blackhowl Wolf Pack had sent an official letter inviting the Silverflame Wolf Pack to become one of their sub-packs, so the Blackhowl Wolf Pack could gain the upper hand over mine.
My jaw clenched as realization settled heavily inside me. The reason Xavier Delanor had been willing to seal a deal worth billions wasn't because he wanted business or alliances with us. He wanted our Pack.
Xavier, my dearest husband, if you think you can use your power to control the Silverflame family, then keep dreaming.
I, Marianna Silverflame, would rather sacrifice my own father than allow him to hand you authority over my Pack.
The Silverflame Wolf Pack is mine. It has always been mine.
