“I’d appreciate it if you left me alone,” I say in a clipped tone to the ever-hovering Dante.
He doesn’t reply at first and I open my mouth to repeat my request for the third time, till he responds with a small smile and a shrug. “I’m merely doing my job. The king said I should remain by your side at all times and that is what I will be doing.”
