The mate bond was tearing at me. That had been established. It was only happening because Maya isn’t dead like everyone thinks. That fact had also been established, even though it took forever.
I called for a meeting with my men because I needed them now more than ever. To stop the mate bond from tearing at me, I needed Maya. It was important for me to set eyes on her as soon as possible.
Kendra has no idea about all of this. She wasn’t exactly the best werewolf to talk to about Maya. She still thinks I’m obsessed with Maya, and it was the only reason she had been appearing in my dreams.
