MAYA’S POV
For a moment, I started believing Beta Kierra and I might actually make it to the mansion safely without getting attacked by any of Alpha Damien’s men. Beta Kierra literally had her eyes everywhere.
Suddenly, she stopped, and my heart skipped a beat. She stood in front of me, and it was as though she was shielding me from what only she could see. I looked back, and I saw no one.
"What is it?"
"They found us," she replied.
The words had barely left her mouth when several men stepped out from between the trees. Not one, not two, not three. Within the twinkle of an eye, Beta Kierra and I were surrounded.
I recognized the symbol on their uniforms, and they were indeed Alpha Damien’s men. They all had eyes on me, and not one of them had eyes on Beta Kierra. They seemed to know
