The night that passed seemed to be the longest of my life. My parents stayed up late, arguing while they drank. When I managed to drift off to sleep, my Mom was at my bedroom door, banging loudly and demanding my money. I ignored her and eventually she gave up. I had never been so grateful to have a lock on my bedroom door.  So, although I am feeling exhausted this morning, I am still positive that I need to leave this place. My life will be nothing if I stay, an endless circle of sadness and abuse. I promised myself that I would live a good life, for Bobby. I know in my heart that he would want me to be happy, and I can’t be happy here.
