“Damn it, Rémy, why didn’t you give me a floor plan?” I bitched, having had to guess where each piece of furniture went. It was my first day of work and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, and without instructions I worried that I’d gotten everything wrong. I fell back onto the sleek black leather couch I’d had placed in the living room, exhausted. The delivery men I’d let in earlier were only the first of three deliveries. The first two were from furniture stores, while the third was a moving company dropping off stuff Rémy had had in storage. Obviously the kitchen, living room and bathrooms (four!) were easy to identify. So was Rémy’s bedroom, which had a king-sized mattress on the floor.
