love's perfect day
Chapter 1:
_Chapter 1: Colliding Worlds_
"Watch where you're going, sweetheart," he growled, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine.
Lexi Thompson's eyes flashed up to meet the stranger's, her heart racing from the sudden collision. She had been storming through the grand lobby of the Plaza Hotel, her mind consumed by the demands of the bridezilla of the century. Now, her focus was shattered, replaced by the piercing blue gaze of the man before her.
His chiseled features seemed carved from granite, his jawline sharp, his eyes blazing with intensity. Lexi felt a jolt of electricity run through her veins as he towered over her, his broad shoulders and imposing frame making her feel small and vulnerable.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Lexi spat, her irritation rising to the surface. "I didn't realize the king of the world was standing here."
A hint of a smile played on his lips, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Just a humble citizen trying to avoid getting mowed down by a beautiful woman."
Their gazes locked, the air thickening with tension. Lexi's pulse pounded in her ears, her senses heightened as she struggled to process the sudden attraction.
And then, just as suddenly, he was gone, vanished into thin air, leaving Lexi breathless and bewildered.
What just happened?
Lexi stood there, frozen, as the stranger disappeared into the crowd. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her. What was that? Who was that?
She shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs. Focus, Lexi. You have a wedding to plan.
But her mind kept drifting back to the stranger. Those piercing blue eyes, that chiseled jawline, that hint of a smile. She felt a flutter in her chest, a sensation she hadn't experienced in a long time.
Lexi took a deep breath and continued on her way, her stilettos clicking on the marble floor. She had a meeting with the bride in 10 minutes, and she couldn't be late.
As she entered the meeting room, Lexi was greeted by the bride's frantic smile. "Lexi, thank goodness you're here! I need to change the seating arrangements... again."
Lexi smiled, pushing the stranger to the back of her mind. "Of course, let's take a look."
But as she delved into the details of the wedding, Lexi couldn't shake off the feeling that her life had just been turned upside down.
Meanwhile, in a corner of the lobby, the stranger watched Lexi disappear into the meeting room. A small smile played on his lips.
"Julian Blackwood," he whispered to himself. "You're in trouble."
"Angel, I need to show you something," Rachel said, her voice trembling as she burst into the opulent dressing room.
Angel turned from the mirror, where she was adjusting her veil, and raised an eyebrow. "What is it, Rachel? I'm about to walk down the aisle."
Rachel handed Angel her phone, her eyes welling up with tears. "I was in Hudson's office, looking for the wedding vows, and I saw this on his computer. I couldn't believe my eyes."
Angel took the phone, her heart racing with a sense of foreboding. The screen showed a message thread between Hudson and Sammie, her ex-boyfriend. The words "choose wisely" seemed to leap off the screen, followed by a transaction record that made Angel's blood run cold.
Angel's legs gave way beneath her, and she sat down slowly on the plush couch, her eyes fixed on the screen as tears streamed down her face. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her. The room began to spin, and Rachel's concerned voice seemed to come from far away.
"Angel, oh my god, I'm so sorry," Rachel said, kneeling beside her. "I had no idea he was capable of something like this."
Angel's mind reeled as she stared at the transaction record, the numbers and words blurring together. Hudson had paid Sammie to break up with her, to leave her heartbroken and vulnerable. And then he'd swooped in, playing the hero, and she'd fallen for it. The realization was like a tidal wave, crashing over her and pulling her under.
Meanwhile, in the groom's suite, Hudson was laughing and clinking glasses with his groomsmen, oblivious to the storm brewing in the dressing room. He raised his glass, a triumphant smile spreading across his face.
"It's happening, guys!" he toasted, his voice dripping with arrogance. "I'm finally getting what I want. The perfect trophy wife, the perfect business deal... it's all falling into place."
His friends cheered and echoed the toast, but one of them, a quiet and introspective man named Alex, looked uncomfortable. He glanced at his watch, wondering how much longer they had to keep up this charade.
Just then, the door burst open and Hudson's best man, James, strode in, looking pale and shaken. "Hudson, we need to talk," he said, his voice low and urgent.
Hudson's smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered. "What's up, James? Can't it wait? We're about to get started."
James hesitated, glancing around the room before leaning in close. "It's about Angel," he whispered. "She knows."
Hudson stepped out of the groom's suite, his face a mask of calm curiosity. "Knows what?" he repeated, his voice firm but with a hint of unease.
James glanced around nervously before leaning in closer. "She saw the transaction record, Hudson. She knows about the deal with Sammie."
Hudson's expression changed from calm to shocked, his eyes widening in disbelief. "How did she...?" he started to say, but James just shook his head.
Meanwhile, Angel and Rachel were nowhere to be found. They had slipped out of the dressing room, leaving behind a trail of confused and worried wedding guests. They moved swiftly through the crowded hallways, their heels clicking on the marble floor.
"We need to get out of here, now," Angel said, her voice firm and determined.
Rachel nodded, her eyes shining with tears. "I'm so sorry, Angel. I had no idea he was capable of something like this."
Angel's face set in a fierce expression. "I'm not going to let him get away with this. I'm going to make sure he pays for what he's done."
Hudson's face twisted in a scowl as he barked orders at his security team. "Find her!" he growled. "I don't care what it takes, I want Angel found and brought to me now."
His team of burly men nodded and quickly fanned out, scouring the surrounding areas. They checked the parking lots, the gardens, and even the nearby buildings, but there was no sign of Angel.
One of the guards approached Hudson, his expression apologetic. "Sir, we've searched everywhere. It's like she vanished into thin air."
Hudson's anger turned cold and calculating. He knew Angel was clever, but he never thought she'd be able to evade his security team. He made a mental note to increase the reward for her capture.
Just then, his phone buzzed with an update from his tech team. "Sir, we've tracked Angel's last known location to a small café on the outskirts of town."
Hudson's eyes narrowed. "Get me there now," he snarled.
But as they arrived at the café, they found only a cryptic message scrawled on the bathroom wall: "You'll never find me!
Hudson immediately contacted ramson,
Hudson's cyber wizard, a brilliant but eccentric hacker, answered on the first ring. "What's the job, boss?"
"I need you to track a number," Hudson said, his voice low and urgent. "Angel's number. I need to know where she is."
The hacker's fingers flew across his keyboard. "Okay, boss. I'm on it."
Minutes ticked by, and then the hacker chuckled. "Well, well, well."the cyber wizard's voice was laced with satisfaction. "I tracked it, sir. The number is currently located at... the Flower Fantasy mall, sir."
Hudson's eyes lit up with triumph. "Ah, finally! I have her now. Tell me more."
The wizard continued, "It seems the phone is currently in use, sir. I can even pinpoint the exact location within the mall."
Hudson's grin grew wider. "Excellent work! I'll be there in 10 minutes. Keep tracking the phone, and don't let it out of your sight."
The wizard nodded, even though Hudson couldn't see him. "Yes, sir. I'll keep the phone on lockdown. You can count on me, sir."
Hudson hung up the phone and turned to his security team. "Let's move! We have her now!"
His security team moved with full force with the belief to get angel and threaten her into making the last vows of marriage with Hudson and never to ruin such an investment Hudson has put so much into. When the got to the flower mall, there was door labelled:bridal flower as it was seen on ramson's compute."yes here Hudson said while giving his security a sign to step out when his eyes glanced on an angel like bodies lady inhaling the scent of a beautiful white rose flower
Hudson then gripped her by her waist and whispered into her ears"mama let's go back it's our big day already,I'm sorry"she chuckled..."big naughty brother hugs...
Amanda!what are u doing here?
I came to get flowers for Angel Hudson!what's wrong?why u coming after me?Hudson quickly took Amanda phone and found out that angel SIM were inserted there
Stares at her in mischievous and curious manner"Amanda can u explain this?
Explain what?Amanda said confused.what is angel SIM doing in Ur f*****g phone? Angel's SIM?my phone?how do u mean?
Hudson walked out angrily and so furious dropping Amanda's phone on the pot of flowers beside him, meanwhile Amanda was so confused and couldn't rest
Not too long Angel came to the event hall to confront her brother."
Hudson's face fell as he realized his mistake. He had been outsmarted by Angel once again.
He quickly came up with a cover story, trying to play it cool. "Hey, sis. Just needed to... uh... check on the wedding flowers. Yeah, that's it."
His sister looked up, confused. "Hudson, what's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Hudson forced a laugh. "Just a little... wedding stress, that's all."
But his sister wasn't buying it. "Hudson, what's really going on? You're not still looking for Angel, are you?"
Hudson's eyes darted around the room, making sure no one was listening. "Shh, sis. Not here. Let's just say... I have everything under control."
But he didn't. Angel was still one step ahead, and Hudson was starting to lose his grip.
Rachael and Angel were situated on a Mable chair in a nameless place sipping and taking latte, Rachael drew in "Angel how on earth did u meet Sammie?"
Angel's eyes sparkled with excitement. "So, Sammie was working at the grocery store right next to my coffee shop.racheal drew closer to angel as she continued...I'd see him every day, restocking shelves or helping customers. He'd smile at me, and I'd feel like my heart was melting."
Rachel listened, entranced, as Angel described every detail of Sammie's daily routine.
"I'd watch him from afar, learning his schedule, his habits... everything. I knew when he took his breaks, when he ate his lunch, even what he liked to eat. And then, one day, I finally worked up the courage to approach him."
Angel's voice dropped to a whisper, her eyes glazing over with the memory. "He was so kind, so gentle... he had no idea who I was, no idea about my past. He just saw me, Angel, and he liked me for who I was."
Rachel's expression softened, seeing the vulnerability in Angel's eyes. "And that's when you fell in love with him?"
Angel nodded, her smile radiant. "Yes, that's when I knew I'd do anything to make him mine."
But as Angel spoke, Rachel couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Angel's obsession with Sammie seemed almost... unhealthy.
Angel's eyes sparkled as she continued, lost in the memories. "We started dating, and it was like a dream come true. Sammie was perfect - kind, caring, and attentive. He'd surprise me with my favorite coffee every morning, and we'd spend hours talking about our hopes and dreams."
Rachel listened, entranced, as Angel described their whirlwind romance.
"We'd go on long walks, hand in hand, exploring the city. Sammie would tell me about his passion for photography, and I'd share my love of art. We were like two souls meant to be together."
Angel's voice filled with emotion as she recalled their special moments. "He'd cook me dinner, and we'd dance under the stars. It was like our own little world, where nothing else mattered."
