Greed
"Noel"
"NOEL GET DOWN HERE"
The voice called about again. It was rash, deep and almost threatening. I don't want to face this man who lies at the end of these steps.
"NOEL IF I SAY YOUR NAME AGAIN, I WILL COME AFTER YOU"
My pace quickened walking down the steps seeing 2 pairs of eyes instead of one. The one of the left smelling as if she was spraying to much expired perfume.
She should know, we aren't rich, but no. She sold her body to the pair of glaring eyes on my right.
A muscular built man covered in tattoos, and completely disregards me as his son.
Though both of them have 2 older children than me, who get treated like kings compared to me.
"Noel are you f*cking listening to me", my thoughts stopped looking at my father who then crossed his arms.
"It's no use babe, talking to some rude b*tch like this", Mom then said giving me a disgusted look.
"just punish him babe", she added taking out lip stick smearing it across her cracked lips.
Before I could react, he was already dragging me to the kitchen. I screamed for my brother's who always came running to my side when father was like this.
But I'd forgotten, they went off to college. They won't come back to this hell hole.
His hand came wrapping around my neck as his other fist came crashing across my face. It felt suffocating.
The more I screamed for help the more I asked myself.
"why me"
What, did I do to deserve this. When did you change just to be like this.
A fist came landing at my stomach as I fell to the floor coughing and gasping for air.
"get up b*tch, this isn't over", he said angrily.
I tried standing but my legs gave in falling back to the floor scared to look the man I still call my father in the eyes.
People would say the eyes are windows to your soul, and I can clearly tell.
My father did not save his soul, but killed it completely.
"not listening again huh", at this his gripped my hair dragging me to the front door.
I was dragged into the cold thin air and thrown to the ground.
"I never wanted a son like you, so just lay there and rot", my father said.
But his true words were...
"I never loved you, and I never wanted you," he added.
I knew at that moment that I've lost my home, and everything I once knew in the house.
