The next few days draged slowly. I impatiently waited for Josh to contact me. I was in the music room. Music instantly calmed me, and made me feel better.
I neared the end of a 'Thousand Years' by Christiana Perri, on the grand baby piano.
Releasing the last key, I heard clapping. Turning around in surprise, I see Josh leaning aganist the doorway.
He was dressed this time in jeans, white t-shirt with blue hightop sneakers.
Wow, he looked enticing. I could see his good looks clearly now, in the daylight. I blushed and looked away.
He walked into the room and joins me on the bench. I see him place his hands to the keys, and begins to play.
It was deeply moving, he looked so serene playing it. I did not know the song, but loved it. When he finished, I asked "What's the name of that song?"
"Unchained Melody, by the Righteous Brothers," he replied softly.
"It's the most hauntingly, beautiful song, I have ever heard," I tell him, feeling both sad and happy at the same time.
"It was my grandparent's, favorate love song," Josh tells me sadly "My grandpa would play it whenever he missed, my grandmother," Josh continues.
"What is the lyrics about?" I ask, curiously.
"It's about true love, withstanding the test of time," Josh says, his eyes focused on mines. I will send you the original version tonight."
"Okay, thanks" I say, smiling at him. Josh looks away, then says seriously, changing the topic.
"We need to talk about, your birth mother."
"What information do you have? he asks, getting all professional.
"That's it exactly, I don't have much," I tell him, shugging my shoulders.
"Okay. Is there somewhere private we can talk? I am sure that you don't want them to find out, otherwise, you would not have been asking for my help," he concludes, standing up.
I stood up also, "My treehouse," I tell him. No one ever comes there. It was my oasis of peace. I lead him out the music room and into the yard. We walked untill we came to a big sturdy Eucalyptus tree, and climbed up the hanging ladder. We enter up through the hatch door, into the main room.
My father had the tree house, built for my eight birthday. It was a two story wooden oak structure, with three large bay window. It had functioning capabilities as a real house. The fifteen by fifteen living area had two large comfortable blue couches. A blue throw rug, laid on the floor. The treehouse, had a fully stacked mini fridge and microwave. Two cupboards were built below the sink, which had running water. I had bought a two burner propane stove, so I could cook myself small meals. Four wooden steps, in the right corner led to the top half, which housed my double bed and tiny bathroom.
I go to the bookshelf, and pull out a manila folder, hidden behind some books. I hand it to him, Josh sits on the couch with I opposite him.
Josh opens the folder and takes out a copy of my birthpaper. He reads it, then puts it back. Next he takes out the five page legal document. I get up and go upstairs to the bedroom. I lay down on the bed, staring at nothing.
A few minutes later Josh enters, and lays next to me. "I am so sorry," He tells me, wrapping his arms around me, pulling me into his chest. I lay my head aganist his heart, and cry like a newborn baby.
When I opened my eyes, it was dark, somehow I had fallen asleep, wrapped up in his arms. He was still asleep, I could hear his deep breathing and slight snore.
Josh was really a smart, funny, sensitive guy. I thought feeling all warm and tinglely inside. He would make a good boyfriend.
What!
I try to comprehend my emotions. Did I like, like Josh?
Yes!
Did I want him to kiss me and do s****l things? This is the part, I still wasn't sure about.
