Forbidden Contract with a DEMON

THE SECRET

I woke up by a sound. I was feeling tired a little bit. I tried to open my eyes and saw that I was in a big bed. It was a really big one with nice mattress, I felt so comfortable in it but realized that this was not a bed that I knew. I sat on the bed and checked where I was. It was a big bedroom, there was not many furniture but the whole room was looking very nice and expensive in dark colors. The door was opened, and Tammy came in.

“You woke up? Hi, how are you feeling Amy?” she asked walking to me slowly.

“I am fine, I think. Tammy, was I dreaming again, or your father showed up with three huge guys? And where are we by the way?”

Tammy came and sat on the bed next to me. “I am just really really sorry. I will explain all, I just don’t know where to begin. But, you are safe ok? There is nothing to worry about. I called your mom and said that you are staying in my place.”

“That is good, thanks. This place does not look like your place though?”

“It is my father’s castle.”

“Castle!?” I looked at her surprised. There was no way we were in a castle, there was not any castle close to us.

“It is true. I will show you around soon. This place is hidden from human eyes, so no one knows that it is here”

“What do you mean by human eyes? Your father said it too. You are saying as if there are other than humans”

She looked at me with worried eyes, then looked down.  “I am not a human”

I just stared at her blankly. “What, what is this supposed to mean?”

“All the myths, legends that I was interested in, you know right? They were all real. Humans actually know that there are many other races living here but they choose to forget and deny it. So by time, reality became legend”

“You mean like the werewolves and vampires we watched in the movies together? Those are all real?

“Yes”

“And you are one of them?”

“Yes”

“You are messing with me” Now I was smiling. But she just stayed looking down. Then she moved her hand upper and pointed a vase standing in the corner. The vase started to come towards us. I was watching the vase coming to me with shocked eyes.

“There has to be a rope, come on don’t mess with me Tammy, please” I was feeling nervous and my mind was asking me if all of these were true..?

The vase slowly came in front of me. I reached for it, trying to check the ropes around it but there was none. Then the vase started to move again next to Tammy and was placed on the floor. She closed her eyes and touched the bed and the bed started to rise while we were still sitting on it.

“What…woow…” My voice was very loud with surprise and I was watching the bed under me floating in the air. She then put the bed on the floor again.

“Are you…is this real, you really are not human?” I was trying to digest what just happened.

She turned to me with sad eyes again. “I am sorry that I hide it from you. It is just, I wanted to feel what it was like to be around humans. I wanted to escape from my world for a while. I tried so hard to convince my father and he finally said that he allowed me to live in human world till I was eighteen. That is how I came two years ago to our town and met you Amy, which was the best thing ever.”

“Woow…I just, I always felt like you were hiding some family matters, but I could never imagine it to be like this…this is so unreal.” It was so hard to believe all but I choose to trust my best friend.

“I know, you are taking this pretty good, I think. Thanks to all the supernatural movies I made you watch” said Tammy smiling.

“I guess so. Then tell me, what are you? Because there were so many options in the movies” I was very curious, realizing I still did not know what she was.

She took a deep breath. “Ok…well…do not freak out ok? You know I am still the same person and I will never hurt you. Just stay calm like this”

“Yeah ok. Why are you so nervous? What, are one of those bloodsucking monsters in the movies? The dangerous vampire girl? You can only be a cute fairy, so no problem at all” I said jokingly.

She kept looking at me and I could swear that her white skin became even whiter. Oh, nooo I thought.

“You are…ohh, you are…. a vampire?” I asked quietly.

She did not move for few second and then answered in panic. “Yes…but do not remember movies like Blade or Underworld, think about Twilight, remember the charming and cute sides ok?”

“Ok….I am trying. There were indeed very charming vampires in the movies. So, you have fangs?” I thought about my dream, seeing her with fangs.

“Yes but lets go slowly. Maybe later I can show you. Now let’s check the castle”

“No, I want to see now. No fangs, no castle tour.” I crossed my arms stubbornly. 

She signed. “Oh gosh, I can’t believe how stubborn you can be even under this situation. Fine, but don’t run away crying ok?”  She opened her mouth a little, I could see her fangs growing, getting pointy in her mouth. But the change was not only that. Her eye color also changed a little, her brown color started to turn red-ish. 

“Woow…ok..I really believe you now” I could say in surprise.  “Let’s go see the castle, I think I need some fresh air now” This time I was taking deep breaths.  

“Good, ok come then” She got up and walked to the door. I followed her, still thinking what in the world was happening to me now.

As soon as we got out from the door, I found myself in a very big hall. Walls were decorated with very beautiful and old looking portraits, people on them had fangs and white skin like Tammy. They all had a very different and exotic beauty.

We walked into a big room. There, her father and a woman looking just like Tammy were sitting.

“Mom, this is Amy I have been telling you about.” Tammy said looking at the woman. She got up and came closer.

“Hello Amy, I am Karmalisa Renorius. You already met with my husband Ramiel, as I heard.” She glanced her husband who was sitting behind and turned to me again. “Tameris has been talking about you all the time, thanks for being a good friend for my daughter.” She showed a kind smile, showing her beauty even more.

I tried to sound nice and normal. “Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Renorius. You have a nice house, I mean castle. I am sorry, I really do not know what to say, I know Tammy…Tameris for 2 years but I could never imagine something like this.”

“I surely understand your surprise. But you look fine, I am glad. I heard you were having some dreams and could see my husband when he was using his power to cover himself from human eyes.” Mrs. Renorius asked curiously.  

Tammy interrupted her Mother. “Mom, it is not a good time I think, can we talk about this later?”

“We would like to help honey. Therefore, we need to hear what Amy really saw in her dreams to understand. Could you please tell us, Amy?”  Mrs. Renorius again looked at me with curious beautiful brown eyes.   

I answered nervously. “Yes, but it was not anything important. It was very confusing; I cannot remember very well. Just a big shiny electric ball, and few faces but I really cannot remember”

“A big shiny ball you say, was it like an energy ball, like there is thunder all around?” asked Mr. Renorius as he stood up quickly and came to our side.

“Ye..yes, I think it was like that.”

He turned to Tammy with a very serious face. “You did not mention that part, Tameris. This changes everything.”

“Why is it changing anything?” asked Tammy worried.

“Because it means she saw the Sacred Light in her dream. I must talk to your grandfather about this. Elders may need to discuss.” Mr. Renorius suddenly disappeared, and I felt a light breeze from my right side. How fast those people could be, I wondered…

“Mom, you must do something! I do not want her to get involved. Please!” Tammy’s voice was so worried.

Mrs. Renorius caressed Tammy’s cheek. “I am sorry dear, this matter is out of our control. This is not something we can take lightly. Seeing the Sacred Light in a dream is very important and we are talking about a human here. Elders will decide, not us”

“Tammy, what is it, why are you worried this much?” I asked as I did not understand what was going on at all.

She looked at me with tears in her eyes. “Tomorrow evening, there will be a very important event. It happens once in every millennium. It is called Sacred Light Hunt. The light ball you saw in your dream, it is like that. Ten participants from strong races attend the hunt and try to find the Sacred Light. Whoever finds it and touches it, that person becomes the Chosen One and receives an incredible power”

I listened carefully and tried to understand “This will happen tomorrow? It really sounds like a big thing. But why did I see it in my dream? And why are you so worried?”

“My father is trying to understand that. That is why he is asking to my grandfather. He is a very old and powerful vampire. So, he can have some idea. But I am worried about their decision”

“He will take care of this matter, do not worry. No one will put Amy in danger. For now, just relax and please do not forget that your fiancée will soon arrive so get ready. Show Amy our guest wardrobe to choose a dress too.” said Mrs. Renorius smiling.

In that moment, I looked at Tammy hoping that my eyes could send flames to her. Fiancé!!!…. I shouted her with my eyes.

She turned her back immediately and walked fast to the door. “Sure. Come Amy”

She was basically running in the hall.  I whispered, “You cannot run away Tammy. Fiancé…now I get why you stopped meeting up with boys!”

She opened a big door and walked inside, I followed her. It was a huge bedroom. “I am sorry…..How can I tell you that I got engaged! It is not even legal in human world, I think... But in our world, pure blood vampire families decide that when we are still children. I did not have a say about it”

“WHAT! You mean it was forced; you don’t even like him?” I yelled this time.

She shook her hands. “No, I mean…he is not bad. But it is not like I know him very well. But he is really not bad.”  She was getting blushed.

“Ohh, you like him. Your cheeks got red. He must be very handsome to make you like that” I got relaxed seeing her reaction.  

“He is not bad ok” she said laughing.  “He is nineteen years old, from a very old vampire family. He has emerald eyes with night black hair. He is tall and masculine. But he is not very talkative. I really do not know if he likes me or not”

“Who will not like you? You are beautiful, kind, funny, a little crazy sometimes but this is also fine” I teased her laughing as always.

“You see me that way because you like me a lot. Anyway, let’s get ready before he comes. Do not say something weird about me to him ok? I am not kidding?” Tammy rose her finger in a warning way.  

“No way, I will only tell the kind and funny parts, not the crazy ones. No worries” I said, pointing my pinky to swear.  

She shook her head and signed. “I better start praying…”

“I HEARD THAT” I yelled laughing and followed her to get ready for Mr. Fiancé.
