REIS’ POV
I stood by the window of my office, the city stretched out beneath me…
Bright lights, loud music… people moving about, high towers… that was life.
But one thing that stayed on my mind even as I stood there…
Control. That was the one thing I’ve made sure I’ve had no matter what, over the years.
But lately…
It seems that too many things had slipped outside my control.
Mira… now going rogue on me, Uncle Kristof in the mix..
And the constant of Isaac and Judy.
Three different problems, three different kinds of threats.
I exhaled slowly, sitting back down.
Mira had left the mansion without informing me or even an explanation when she came back late last night..
That alone should have been enough to confront her immediately.
