I was in the study, exactly where I had spent most of my nights lately—buried in thoughts.
Up until a sharp knock snapped me out of it…
“Enter.”
The door pushed open and a maid entered with her head bowed.
“Sir..for you..” she gestured to a letter in her hand.
A letter? Why not a text or call?
This must be important.
I took the letter and she quietly excused herself..
My gaze dropped to the symbol on the stamp…the High Council?!
I stared at it for a moment longer than necessary before breaking the seal.
If the High Council bypassed standard protocol, it means one thing—
Something was wrong…
I unfolded the document slowly, scanning the contents a couple of times to make sure I read it well..
Emergency Summit. Neutral Territory. Mandatory Attendance.
