The first thing that I saw when I opened my eyes was Dad's face. His brows were knotted, jaw tight, lips in one line, and his eyes were sharp while staring at me. And that face was mad. Definitely mad.
"Dad," I greeted weakly.
He snorted. "You've been poisoned."
Umiwas ako ng tingin at tumitig sa kisame. Poisoned? Well, I guessed it was true. Ramdam ko pa ang p*******t ng ulo at pamamanhid ng katawan ko. But there was a faint taste of bitter liquid and medicine in my tongue.
"I think it's Simmy," I said to Dad between silence.
Narinig ko na naman siyang bumuntong-hinga. "Don't accuse Simmy. She has nothing to do with this incident."
