Tessa looked at Julie as she is putting on her shoes. Julie wore a t-shirt and black yoga pants. She tied her hair into a high ponytail.
"Going somewhere?" Tessa asked as she is packing her bags.
"Yeah, will be back by evening. When you are leaving?" Julie asked.
"We will be leaving at ten in the evening."
Julie nodded her head, "I thought you are leaving at six," Julie said.
"Yeah, the initial plan was to leave by six but our flight is at 1:00 am. We can't leave so early," Tessa said keeping her panties bag in the traveller.
"I will be there when you will be leaving."
"Arent you attending the party that is going to happen in Rachael's house?" Tessa asked.
"Not really, Bodhi and Fiona aren't here. There is no one to take care of my drunken ass," Julie replied and Tessa laughed.
Tessa is going on a vacation with her class friends. The new semester will start in two weeks. They got two weeks as holidays.
"See yeah later," Julie said standing up when she received a text from Ace.
"But where are you going if Bodhi and Fiona aren't here. Going with some other friend?" Tessa asked.
"Hmm yeah kind off," Julie answered before running out.
Tessa chuckled looking at Julie. "Never gonna slow down, will she," Fiona spoke to herself.
She pulled her clothes out and arranged them properly. Julie properly wore her bag as she walked towards the gates.
Ace waited outside with his hands pushed inside his jean pockets. This time he is facing the gates, waiting for Julie to walk out.
He saw Julie walking out of the gates with her bag. She smiled and waved her hand when she saw him.
Ace smiled back at her. "Good morning," Julie said wandering towards Ace.
"Good morning," Ace replied.
"Give the bag, I will keep it backside," Ace said. Julie removed her bag and handed it to Ace.
"Get inside," Ace said. Julie wandered over to the passenger seat side and got inside the car. She buckled her seatbelt and tapped her finger on her thigh.
Ace got inside the car, buckled his seatbelt and started the car. He turned his head, looked at Julie who is already looking at him.
They smiled before Ace shifted his gaze back to the roads. Julie smiled brightly biting her lower lip as she looked out of the window.
She is excited, happy and curious to know where Ace is taking her to. She always loves discovering new places far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
"I heard from Greyson that today is usually a busy day for you all. Why did you say that you are free today?" Julie asked looking at the passing by cars.
Ace brows frowned, he expected her not to call Greyson. "Hmm, I wanted a break from the busy schedule," Ace answered.
"Haha, good that you are taking a break. Greyson told me that you never take a break or leave the house."
"Not really, when I have work I leave but normally I don't like to step out," Ace replied.
"Why? The days and the weather is good and bad but that doesn't mean that you cant go out for a walk. A small walk would be nice. Don't stay in the house all the time, go for walks," Julie said turning her head and looking at Ace.
"Hmm, I don't like to take alone walks. So I skip them."
"You could always ask the boys to company you. Greyson would surely join you, he loves you and I'm sure the boys love you so much," Julie said and Ace smiled.
Ace nodded his head. "I will ask them if I go on a walk."
Julie waited a second before saying. "If you are comfortable or if they are busy you can always call me. I'm always up for walks."
Ace looked at Julie before looking back at the roads. He didn't utter a word, he simply nodded his head. If that is the case he would only call her for the walks.
"Did you have your breakfast?" Ace asked.
"Ugh, nope I forgot to get my breakfast."
"I... I actually brought breakfast but we need to get the coffee," Ace said.
Julie looked at Ace in surprise. "Really, that's so sweet of you," Julie said patting Ace's arm softly before pulling her hand back.
Ace tensed when Julie did that but he liked it. The small gesture of hand tapping. He glanced at his arm where Julie patted with a small smile on his face.
They stopped at a cafe to get their coffee. When they got their coffee and muffin they left the city. Julie looked out of the window at the plain land and the long-lasting road.
"Five minutes before we reach the place," Ace spoke.
"Okay."
The soft music in the background is soothing for both Ace and Julie. The weather is good, they are in good mood.
Julie's eyes widen in surprise as they entered the greenery. Usually, the forests in New York are parks and they are always packed by families, groups and friends.
Ace slowly drove the car into the woods, the road is offbeat but still, there is a pathway made. Julie curiously looked at the trees as Ace stopped the car at the end.
"I never know that there is a place like this that exists," Julie said while Ace unbuckled his seatbelt.
"Only a few people know but they never come too deep into the woods," Ace spoke opening his car door.
Julie unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the car door and stepped out of the car. She looked around standing near the car.
"This place is so calm and beautiful," Julie said in her low voice. Ace opened his car trunk to pull out the things. He brought the picnic mat.
He went over to the place where he always sits, works or lays down. He neatly laid down the mat while Julie looked at him. Ace went back, brought the picnic basket then he brought the water bottles and glasses.
"First let us eat the breakfast," Ace said.
"Okay," Julie said removing her flip-flops. She stepped on the mat, took her seat opposite Ace as he started arranging the food on the foldable table that he brought.
Julie looked at the food in surprise. "Who made all this food early in the morning?" Julie asked.
Ace looked at Julie, as a habit he started rubbing the back of his neck while Julie waited for an answer. When she met with the silence she understood that Ace was the one who prepared the food.
"Wow, you woke up early and made the food. I don't have words to say," Julie said while Ace's cheeks turned pink.
"I feel special and thank you for making me special. It's a rare feeling that I feel," Julie said truthfully smiling softly at Ace.
She placed her hand on Ace's hand that was on the table and gave a small pat to it. Ace looked down at her shorthand patting his big hand.
"Thank you." Julie pulled her hand back and sat Indian style.
"I will serve your plate," Ace said picking the plate.
Julie gazed at Ace as he served her plate, her gaze went to his curly messy hair, forehead, imperfect yet slightly perfect eyebrows, thick eyelashes, dark circles under his eyes, she didn't observe his face before. There is a scar on his left cheek, he got a slight beard on his face that suits him perfectly.
Julie blinked her eyes when Ace suddenly looked up meeting her gaze. "Huh?" she asked.
"I made your plate," Ace said.
"Hmm," Julie said taking the plate from Ace.
Ace picked his plate, waited for Julie to eat the sandwich that he made. Julie took a bite of the sandwich and looked at Ace in shock.
"This tastes so good." Julie took another bite and enjoyed the taste of the sandwich. She tried everything on the plate that Ace prepared.
"Do you know how to make red sauce pasta?" Julie asked Ace.
"Yes, I know how to make the red sauce pasta."
"Next time we meet, can you make red sauce pasta?" Julie asked with so much hope in her eyes.
Ace looked at Julie's eyes. "Okay, I will make the red sauce pasta for you."
Julie smiled brightly nodding her head. "Perfect."
