Julie smiled shaking her head. "That is not true, I'm not clumsy," she said.
"I don't know about the clumsiness but you are clumsy at times. Greyson surely gets tense when you don't answer his calls," Ace said sipping his coffee.
Julie laughed, "when you are in class you don't answer your phone calls. He only calls me when I'm in a class," Julie said.
"You mean a party? He only calls you when you are in a party," Ace said raising his brow at Julie.
Julie narrowed her eyes at him. "Haha, you are knowing a lot of things without asking," Julie replied.
"It's simple, he calls you in the evenings when we are done with our daily training. I don't think you have classes after seven in the evening."
"Hmm..." Julie nodded her head.
They have ordered coffee and muffins to continue their conversation. Julie relaxed as she spoke with Ace. They didn't talk about everything but whatever general topics they have spoken Julie liked it.
She loves to have a conversation with Ace, he is not boring as she thought he would be. The conversation just flowed between them. There was no awkwardness or silence.
"Does that mean you go to parties every night?" Ace asked leaning back in his seat. He is comfortable, he doesn't feel any nervousness that he used to feel.
He watched as a huge happy smile started playing on Julie's face."My best friends and I decided to attend all the parties that happen in the city. We weren't able to attend the parties when we were in our first years. Now we are seniors and this is my last year to enjoy my college days. I don't wanna waste a night," Julie said.
"You are a final year student?" Ace asked.
"Yes, in my final year."
"You will do your masters?"
"Maybe... Maybe not..." Julie replied.
Ace nodded his head, "Okay."
"You don't go to parties?" Julie questioned.
"Crossed that age and phase," Ace replied.
Julie laughed, "Noone is too old to party. You can attend parties at any age," Julie replied.
"Maybe but I don't attend parties right now."
"You don't go to clubbing as well?" Julie asked.
"No."
"You should go clubbing sometimes," Julie said.
"Maybe..."
"What do you like to do in your free hours?" Julie asked crossing her arms.
Ace thought about it. He usually paints or does art in his free hours. "Hmm, watch movies or series with the boys," Ace said. He does join the movie nights and movie afternoons with the boys.
"You guys do movie nights? Greyson never told me about this."
"We do have movie nights and outings on weekends. They do a lot of activities in the house, maybe that's the reason he didn't tell you."
Julie looked at Ace in interest. "Ohoh... You guys do have activities. I thought you people always play video games and train continuously."
Ace smiled, "They do train but taking a break is important as looking at the screen for most hours isn't safe. We came with the rule of having activities on weekends when there are no tournaments," Ace spoke.
"That's nice, I will join those activities one day," Julie joked.
"Sure."
"Seriously? Isn't it all boys day out kind of thing?" Julie asked.
"It is but they usually go out to play football, cricket, volleyball and to have lunch outside. I don't think they would mind you joining. And also Rhett's girlfriend could join too," Ace said.
"Hmm, then I will call Nora and make a plan. It would be fun and you mister... You should join us too," Julie said pointing her finger at Ace.
"Okay."
"How does it feel to be living with boys these many months?" Julie asked.
"It's good, they are funny, caring and serious about their training. It's a balance so I like staying with them," Ace said.
"Who is the naughtiest among everyone? I have an idea of who it is but yeah..."
"Carl and Zeke. Sometimes it's Myles and Brooks."
"The baby of the group?"
"Zeke, they call them Zeke boy and he hates it at the same time loves it," Ace explained.
They spoke for an hour about boys, their training, Julie's classes and her parties. Ace found himself smiling a lot hearing the stories. Julie laughed hearing the stories of boys from Ace.
Julie looked at her wristwatch. "It's time to leave," she said.
"Okay," Ace said.
Julie packed her bag, stood up from her seat. Ace stood up from his seat, picked his phone and keys. "let's go."
Julie started walking first followed by Ace. Ace didn't want to see or check her out from behind but he couldn't help. He did a quick scan, checking Julie's back. His gaze halted on her ass for three seconds before he snapped back.
They walked out of the cafe, the place is busy with people who came on dates and some who are working from the cafe.
"I will drop you at your university," Ace said as they stopped at the parking lot.
"I live in the dormitory," Julie said.
"I will drop you at the dormitory block then," Ace said.
Julie looked up at him. "I prefer walking and it's only five minutes walk from here."
Ace doesn't wanna force her to get into the car nor he wants to ask her even if he wants to drop her and spend some extra minutes.
"Hmm okay."
Julie nodded her head, "see you later then," Julie said.
"See you soon."
Julie waved her hand before turning around. Ace stood there contemplating if he should go with her or leave. He doesn't want to make Julie uncomfortable.
Ace looked down at his shoe with his lower lip rolled inside his mouth. Julie took two steps forward. She doesn't want to leave Ace yet.
Nor she wants him to drop her as it will only take two minutes. She rolled her lips into her mouth as she thought about it. Exhaling through her nose she turned around.
"Ace, wanna walk me to the dormitory?" Julie asked looking up at Ace.
Ace looked up from the ground, "Sure."
Julie nodded her head holding her backpack strap, she turned around and started walking. Ace paced up and started walking beside Julie.
Ace pushed his hands into his hoodie while Julie did the same as they started walking together. They don't know what to talk.
They silently walked to Julie's dormitory. They don't have any problem though, the silence is comfortable.
"This alley directly connects to our university block," Julie said pointing the left alley.
"Is it safe to take this alley road?" Ace asked.
"Yeah, the alley road is only used by the students. Its safe and you will find students hanging out or meeting someone from outside," Julie said.
Ace nodded his head, his gaze went to the two girls and the guy who are sitting near the lampstand as they are laughing.
"See, I told you. I would never take the alley roads if they arent safe," Julie said looking at Ace.
Ace looked down at Julie and gave her a smile. "Good."
They walked slowly basking the silence. Julie doesn't know why she asked him to come with her but she feels good that Ace is here beside her.
The five minutes walk came to an end. Ace looked at the dormitory block gates.
"Hmm, this is it," Julie said. Ace nodded his head looking at the block.
"Your dormitory block is big," Ace commented.
Julie laughed, "I get that from everyone."
They stared at each other not knowing what to say. "Hmm, good night. Go inside," Ace said as he felt the heat creeping up his neck as Julie stared at his face for longer time.
"Good night, drive safe," Julie said lifting her hand and waving at him.
Ace nodded his head and waited for Julie to leave first. Julie understood why Ace stood not leaving. She smiled before turning around and leaving.
Ace watched Julie leave. Julie slowed down her steps, Ace turned around to leave when Julie reached the gate.
"Hey, Ace," Julie called turning around.
Ace turned back and looked at Julie. "Yes?"
"Hmm, I know this is very sudden but are you free tomorrow?" Julie asked.
Ace can feel the slight nervousness growing in the pit of his stomach. "I'm not asking you out on a date. I'm going to this art gallery tomorrow. Felt like asking you, if you are free you join me," Julie spoke immediately when she saw the expression on Ace's face.
Ace didn't answer her. "I will see, I dont know if I'm free or not," Ace said.
Julie nodded her head. "No problem. Just text me if you wanna join or else its fine."
"Okay."
"See ya."
Julie walked inside the gates. She seriously hoped that Ace would say yes and join her for tomorrow. She liked their vibe and the comfort while having a conversation.
Ace watched Julie's leaving figure. "Should have said yes," Ace scolded himself rubbing the back of his neck.
