Ace slowed down his car as he reached the alley that he left Julie that night. There were people hanging out in the alley. He called Julie a while ago when he was near.
'I'm at the alley.' Ae sent the text.
He unbuckled his seatbelt. got out of his car and waited for Julie to come. He pushed his hands into his hoodie pocket and kept looking at his shoes.
Julie pulled her hoodie on, picked her phone and rushed out of her room after closing it behind. Tessa is not in the room she has a night shift.
Julie is bored, wanted to hang out with someone or go to a party but Bodhi and Fiona went on a date to the other city. They won't be returning back soon as their anniversary is nearing. Whenever their anniversary is nearing they go to different cities to celebrate.
Julie ran with a smile on her face, for some reason she is excited to meet Ace. She loves his company and how smooth the conversation goes on.
She slowed down when she saw Ace leaning against his car. She stepped out of the gates, went to where he stood.
"Hey, Ace," she said.
Ace looked up to see Julie. "Hey, Julie."
Julie took her time checking Ace out openly. Ace is wearing a hoodie and joggers. Ace did the same thing, he quickly scanned her from head to toe.
Julie is wearing an ash grey hoodie and joggers. Her hair is tied into a messy bun. Julie stood before Ace and smiled up at him.
Ace didn't know what to say or how to start a conversation. Usually, it's Julie who starts a conversation and the conversation flows between them.
"Let's go on a walk," Julie said.
"Okay," Ace replied.
Julie started walking, Ace followed her. They silently started walking side by side. Ace glanced at Julie whose head is only reaching his shoulder.
"How was your week?" Julie asked breaking the silence.
"It was good, the boys were busy in training all days. There was a bit of work that has to be taken care of so I was busy with that. Now that weekend is here, the boys are relaxing," Ace said.
"Nice."
"How was your week?" Ace asked as they turned left and walked into a different alley.
A heavy sigh left Julie's mouth. Ace looked at Julie who is looking down.
"What happened? That bad?" Ace questioned.
"Yeah, I was busy working and finishing my assignments. The deadline is nearing and I had to work on them without any break," Julie said.
"Hmm, finished all the assignments?" Ace asked.
"Nope."
"Ah?"
"One assignment left and I'm stuck on it," Julie said.
"Which one?" They slowed down walking. Julie put her hands back as she looked straight.
"I'm working on this charcoal assignment that I'm not good at. I have already done with two assignments but I'm not satisfied with the end result. I'm not getting that feeling that I usually get when I'm done with assignments," Julie said.
"Take a break, relax your mind and go somewhere. Observe things, if possible take your things and go somewhere. Work in an open space, it will help you concentrate and you can finish your assignment," Ace explained.
"I know but Bodhi and Fiona aren't here. Bodhi used to drop me somewhere in the outskirts of the city where I used to work. I cannot carry my whole belongings and use public transportation nor I can trust the cabs. It's a mess, I need to work in the studio and finish my assignment," Julie spoke.
Ace didn't say a word. He wants to say that he can take her somewhere to his personal spot where he sometimes works on his work.
"Hmm, if you don't have any problem. I can company you and take you somewhere peaceful where you can work on your assignment," Ace said after a long pause.
Julie stopped walking, Ace got tense thinking Julie might have taken that in the wrong way. "I'm just saying, if you are not comfortable with me then you can take Greyson with you. I will tell him to take a break, he can company you," Ace said.
Julie looked at Ace, frowned her brows. "Why would I take Greyson, he cannot sit in a place for a longer time. He will fall asleep and I would fall asleep beside him. It's better if you company me, I'm okay with the decision," Julie said.
"Okay, tell me when you are free. I will take you on that day," Ace said.
"I'm free the day after tomorrow. Is it okay with you?" Julie asked.
Ace thought about it, he has to go through the boy's weekly performance and it's their usual game-day between team Alaknanda and team Bhagirathi.
But he doesn't want to upset Julie saying he cannot. "Hmm, sure. I will come and pick you when you are ready," Ace replied.
"Good, we will leave by ten in the morning? Is it okay for you?"
"Yeah, I'm okay with it. I will be here by ten am," Ace said.
Julie smiled at him, Ace linked his eyes as he looked at Julie's smile. "Let's continue our walk," Julie said.
"Hmm."
Ace and Julie started walking. Julie can feel something changing between them. She is okay with that, even if she is spending a lot of time with him she is comfortable.
"When is the deadline?" Ace asked.
"It's on next Saturday but in between, we have to attend some off-campus classes. So I have to finish the assignments by this week," Julie said.
"Off-campus classes?"
"Yeah, we are seniors. Seniors are sent to other universities once a month to attend the workshop kind of classes but they are important as you will be able to meet other students. It's fun and useful for our final projects and assignments," Julie said.
"They do that?"
"Yeah."
"I never knew this, that colleges allow their students to attend classes or workshops with other students. But it's a good initiative though, this will help you grow and improve your work," Ace said.
"Yeah, true."
Julie crossed her arms as they reached the other gates of their university. "How big is your university?" Ace asked.
Julie laughed, "it's too big," Julie replied.
They spoke about Julie's university and about the training.
"I wasn't happy when Grey has to shift to India and stay there for a year. I didn't see him for a year, I honestly got angry with you and your company," Julie said.
"Why would you get angry with me?" Ace asked.
"Because you were the one who said they have to shift to India and go through the serious training. Grey and I never lived separately for too long. We were together and suddenly you had asked him to shift. I didn't see him for a year so yeah..." Julie said.
"But weren't you in New York before he shifted to India?" Ace asked.
"Yeah I was in New York," Julie said.
"Then it shouldn't matter if he shifted to India for a year, isn't it?" Ace asked in confusion.
"No, Grey was with me in New York when I joined the university. We used to live in a 2bhk apartment before he got selected by you," Julie said.
"But somewhere I was happy that I will be able to live in the dormitory and hang out with my friends. But I missed Grey so much. Even if he didn't allow me to have the late-night parties, I loved his company," Julie said.
Ace looked at Julie, "Greyson never allowed you to go to house parties?"
"He did but he used to tag along just to make sure that I don't over drink. The thing is he doesn't like parties and the loudness. I used to skip some parties because I don't wanna see him suffer in the parties."
"And the girls, they surround him like bees around honey. Of course Grey is hot and handsome but he doesn't like it when people surround him."
Ace chuckled nodding his head. "He is silent but intelligent," Ace said.
"He is."
"He is like you, in some way you two do have the same personalities. Calm, observative, mysterious, understanding and I'm sure you guys match a lot of things."
Ace nodded his head, a lot of people told him before that Greyson is a version of him. Ace can also say that he matches his personality with Greyson.
"Hmm, maybe in some points we match but we don't exactly have the same personalities," Ace said.
"Does that mean, you have something that they don't know?"
"Huh?" Ace looked at Julie.
"Yeah, if you two don't have the same personalities that we see. It means that you are hiding something that we don't know," Julie spoke looking up at Ace.
Ace opened and closed his mouth. He cannot say no or he could say yes to what Julie said. He stayed quiet making Julie laugh.
"Don't worry, even though I want to know what you are hiding I wouldn't ask if you are not comfortable talking about it," Julie said.
They walked for a while before Julie had to return back to her dormitory when she received a call from Tessa.
Ace drove back with a smile on his face, he couldn't stop the happiness that is radiating in his heart. By the time he reached the home, he saw Greyson and Daman sitting and having a beer in the living area.
He said goodnight and went to his room. He picked his canvas, bag and art stuff to work on the idea that was raised in his mind.
He is in a good mood, he need to keep those good thoughts and do the charcoal potraite that he wants to do.
