*sigh*
I was really excited seeing Chloe but something told me she didn’t feel the same way.
“Hey Chloe”, I exclaimed welcoming her inside.
It seemed she took the warm welcome quite serious as she stormed inside the apartment and went straight to the living room.
“I thought you were in coma Kate, why’d you decide to get up?”, she queried with a malevolent way.
“What do you mean?, aren’t you happy I’m alive?”,
“You wish, I actually hope you’d have passed on to the next life, that is if there’s a next life for you”, she said.
After her statement, that’s when it hit me; ‘Chloe isn’t my friend in this world or dream’, I didn’t know what was what again and who was who, my only choice was to go along with everything that’s going on.
As soon as I always try to relax a little bit, the universe throws another situation towards me. The Chloe I know and this Chloe weren’t totally different, that’s if you’re speaking based on physical appearances, but if it were to be based on their characters, it was as if I was having a conversation with Cinderella’s evil stepmom.
“I just came to say hi by the way and also wanted to remind you that this year’s Designer of the Year awards in abbreviations DOTY belongs to me”,
“What do you mean the ‘DOTY awards’ belongs to you, you’re not a fashion designer and the award’s for only them”, I questioned her. I noticed that the people here had one thing in common and that is their never ending speech. Who knew long talks could be so boring. I wouldn’t blame any of the students who sleep during my lectures.
“That’s big talk for someone who’s been nominated two times in a row and hasn’t still won, I wouldn’t say anything more because you must still be feeling fuzzy up there”, she said pointing her head.
Well I didn’t like this Chloe at all and I wouldn’t just stand and watch her insult me even though I didn’t understand anything she was blabbing about.
“Ohh..yeah, next time I get nominated I’d win for sure”, I didn’t know when these words came out from my mouth.
“OMG!”, she exclaimed hitting her head with her right hand. “She doesn’t even know she got nominated this year, the accident must’ve wiped out most of your memory Kate”,
“Wait——wait, so I got nominated?”,
“You’re so dumb, I wouldn’t blame you though since you’ve never actually won, so you’re free to forget about things like this”,
“We’ll it’s been so nice, but I believed you’ve overstayed your welcome and I’d love it if you leave”, I politely requested even though I was filled with so much rage from within.
“Ar…are you chasing me from your house?”, she stammered in an embarrassed tone,
“It seems so darling”.
I shoved towards the exit. She continued talking about how she’s going to collect the award until we reached the door. I slammed the door shut on her face and dusted my hands like how movie characters do whenever they just did a dirty job.
Once again I went to the living room to relax and after counting from 1 to 10, I sat on the sofa. For a moment there I had a sigh of relief because there wasn’t another weird thing that happened or I didn’t hear the door bell ring. A few hours passed and I did some things apart from sitting on the sofa. I went to the kitchen to get some snack from the refrigerator, it seemed as if I was currently living the life I had always dreamt of because always wanted my kitchen to be like the way this was. It had a tiled floor, a paneled ceiling, and wood cabinetry. It had marble counters which naturally had a pattern flaked with grey, which made it a good match for stainless steel and it had opened shelves which becomes an instant focus point when illuminated by LED strip lights. When I was done with eating, I headed to the shower because I discovered what Chris told me was true even though it was a little bit painful to hear. I had my bath and changed into one of the pj’s I saw in the huge closet and I went to the bedroom.
The bedroom was the second biggest thing in that apartment but it was the best thing I had seen in the whole house, starting from the enormous bed. It had layers of texture and pattern that kept a subtle yet bold interior design from feeling boring. The earth toned walls and cozy pillows with a bit of bling on the side surely boosted the bedroom’s appeal and it had a smart tv which hung perfectly on the wall across the bed. I planned on calling it a day and really hope I’d return to my normal life because I had enough drama for one day. I threw myself on the bed and closed my eye praying that nothing else should happen but my phone decided to ring and when I picked it up from the lamp stand beside the bed to check who was calling, I knew sleeping a normal sleep this night was too good to be true.
